| 82%, "somewhere near York".
"A pie barm" though ... that's not "Northern", it's merely disgusting.
Same goes for chips and gravy.

| That's kind of freaky. I got 87% and it said that's somewhere around York. Which is where I live

Indeed.
Did it the other week – and was marked 'down' for saying that 'dinner' is what I have in the evening.
I can't remember the percentage, but I got "somewhere near Hull". A friend did it and came out as "somewhere near York". It appears not to recognise that 'the north' is not a synonym for 'the eastern side of the country'.

The measure is inversely proportional as to the likelihood to read the Daily Mail, obviously.

As you appear to have very little understanding (and taste) on the subject of food might I ask you refrain from posting in future on "The Food Thread"?

I agree about the pie barm but what do you have with pie, chips and mushy peas if not gravy?

Nothing of course, gravy with chips is just very wrong.
Although I was served, and ate this today.

Salt and malt vinegar.
And if you're me, mayo on the side for the chips (after all, it's only like egg 'n' chips).

Spot on.
I suppose if I got two thirds and me being a turd as well ... that's top marks in total near enough.

| 70% Somewhere near Hull. Cheeky bar stewards.
I, too, didn't relate to a pie barm and gravy with chips. That sounds more like the hillbillies from the Dark Side of the Pennines.

Suitably chastened .. sorry to have mentioned such foibles.
In my defence, I did live in London for most of the 1990's so would ask to be cut some slack as I possibly did go native to a degree.
Maybe if we called them Pain au Tarte et Frites avec jus, my sensibilities might be dulled into gullibility.
Quote ="cod'ead"I agree about the pie barm but what do you have with pie, chips and mushy peas if not gravy?'"
I'd suggest possibly a dab of Sauce de HP, its soupçon of tangy tamarind can enliven even the flabbiest of Accrington's pale and uninteresting products that are so brazenly smuggled across the border here into Calderdale and sold as "Pie's" (*).
But only on the pie, not mixed-in.
And NO mint sauce on it, a sacrilege that I have dispiritedly witnessed at Headingley, from there it's a slippery slope to a babby's yed with pay wet (**).
Anyway, I interpreted the question in the quiz as being about chips and gravy, i.e. solo ... not pie, chips, mushy peas and gravy.
Quote ="Mintball"Salt and malt vinegar.

Mayo, ubiquitous filthy foreign muck that it is, along with the world's most pointless vegetable (the courgette) will cease to exist when I am supreme ruler.
Don't even try to tell me it's only like egg, because it's not, it's actually like mucked-about-and-ruined egg.
(*) I was impressed by the honesty displayed by the chip shop that sells Holland's "Pie's", in putting the word Pies between quotation marks. My respect was, however, diminished by the apostrophe between the E and the S.
(**) No, me neither.

I'll be having fish and chips from my loal chippie this evening and it will be liquidated with a pot of gravy.
Delish.
