Quote ="Ferocious Aardvark"A dental nurse who'd worked for the same dentist for 10 years, and was apparently a model employee, was fired on the grounds of her attractiveness, because the dentist and his wife were afraid he might be tempted to try to start an affair with her and ruin their marriage.
She sued for sex discrimination and lost. It went on appeal to the Iowa Supreme Court which has upheld the ruling. It said firing an employee for being too attractive, despite no inappropriate behaviour on her part, is not sex discrimination, because gender is not the issue.

It took him 10 years to realise? Maybe she was showing signs of age and he had good legal advice to the that if he sacked her for being too good looking he'd be OK, whereas if he sacked her so he could get a younger even more attractive nurse in that would be discriminatory?
