The bugs have been rare for me. Got a couple of completed quests that are stuck in the miscellaneous log and a cave that I couldn't actually see in because the colours went all funny when I was going into it, but nothing major. It helps that I have about 15 separate save files and alternate between each one that I save to so that if anything does go wrong, I can go back and try and find out the moment that the game messed up!

Anyone else that has Madden 12 on PS3 find that it crashes/doesn't load a lot?

It's mainly in superstar mode when you have finished a game and then quit to go back to the menu! Starting to get really feckin annoying now



I have had this problem before with previous Maddens so shouldn't be suprised I guess, damn you EA.

Why play any game? No game is perfect, many have come close, but I've never played a game that I felt was perfect from start 'til finish. Even FFVII had some of the hardest boss battles I've ever faced on a game, they were probably too hard as the only way I done them was by researching methods and 'plans'.

I also think you're not grasping the whole process of [ibuying[/i a game. I'm not saying games should cater to everybody's needs, but when you buy your favourite game that's part of a series, you expect to see progress and development. It's why you pay £40 every year for the same title. The alleged progress made on this year's Fifa is completely unacceptable, the game was/is riddled with flaws, the gameplay has completely stagnated, there is little in terms of progress and the calls for a new 'engine' are legitimate, IMO. I don't know if it can be implemented, but if they could get the AI to play more like a character controlled by a human, it would be so much better. By that I don't mean chasing down short goal kicks, or persistently chasing you down with two players. What I mean is just 'up the tempo' of the way they play, instead of keeping the ball for long spells, why not just get the attack out of the way? I do those EA Challenge things, where you get put into a certain scenario. I do most of them, but some are like 'score two goals in the last 10 mins', and it's on World Class or something, you're lucky to get two attacks, let alone two goals. They are possible and I've done them, but it took about 25 restarts.

Fifa isn't difficult, let me get that straight, it's not that hard to play against the CPU on any level providing you play in a certain way. If online wasn't so laggy for me, I'd spend a lot more time playing on that, but I can't take getting beat by lag, or feeling gimped by lag, so I have to play offline which is terrible.

I've not played a full game against the CPU on FIFA 12, get bored very quickly. All the CPU seem to do is hold onto the ball at all costs, don't know how anyone can be bothered in comparison to online, especially Ultimate Team.

Speaking of which, I've opened far too many Special Gold Packs, and the best I got was an IF Brad Friedel - 84. I've seen my mates get much better packs and made hundreds of thousands on the market. Anyone on here had any big money players?

Had two Sergio Ramos's, an Eto'o, Modric, IF Ramires and I have an IF Gokdeniz Karadeniz stored in my club for a later sale. All of those I've had from packs, but I've bought an IF Guarin, who I paid about 14000 at the time, but he's now price locked at around 40000 so I could make money on. I make most of my money just signing players late at night, then selling them for bigger fees during the day. I've not been well for a few weeks so I've given the PS3 a miss over Christmas, but I'm hoping to get back into it.

If I were you mate, I'd just spend a few nights signing a few players in the later hours. Do a bit of research and you can usually make yourself easy money. I just can't get over EA 'taxing' people coins for selling players, how pathetic is that?

Most of those aren't bugs. You can't drop quest items; that's part of the dumbing down to ensure you don't throw away important items. Hardly a bug though as it's by design.

I did find a few bugs by the way, like completed quests staying in my quest log, duplicated quest items (still in my inventory after completing/giving away the item). But nothing major; I finished it after 120 hours, completed all the main stories, side quests and multiple factions etc.

As your on Xbox, as is mine, be thankful you don't have backward flying dragons like on the PS3, now that version is stuffed.

No mate it's nowt to do with the items been quest items. The weapon racks don't work in some of the houses and certain quests don't trigger correctly. Thankfully I had a spare few k of gold so I bought a house in Riften on the off chance the weapon rack might work. It did and I've finally managed to get the god awful Staff of Charming out of my inventory. The amount of quests I can't get out of my log grows by the day!

It's still an awesome game though!

Xbox is pretty much hackproof if you use it properly. Firstly, ring Microsoft and get an unauthorised access investigation started. They will refund your money and restore the account to you. It will take a while, but if you're not using it, it's no biggie. Then change your Live password but also change your email password if it's the same as your Live password. In future, and this goes for every other Xbox Live user out there, never use a credit card on Live. Use prepaid Live points/membership cards instead. They are cheaper than using your credit card and if your credit card details are not stored, you have no financial exposure beyond the prepaid card value, which you will always get back from Microsoft. The hackers use FIFA as it's such a popular game that the content they purchase can be sold for real money. I'm not sure how much, it must take them weeks to get any proper money together. But I'm convinced that EA's forums and interactive features such as Ultimate Team app and creation centre are also responsible for the leaked information in the first place. The hackers are not getting into Microsoft's vault, they are getting them from EA, I'm sure, but they won't admit that. Another thing I don't understand is how the hackers continue to do it, as surely their Xbox is perma-banned from Live once they are reported in an unauthorised access case. Thanks for the info, thankfully I have only ever bought the pre-paid points cards so there's no danger of them accessing my bank details. I'll give MS a ring in the morning.

But when you see some people saying I haven't been on Live in X amount of months and I don't have Fifa, it does make you wonder what exactly is going on. I can't understand how people can just gain an email address and password without hacking something, it baffles me.

Yes, breaking into peoples live accounts that are attached to Xbox accounts no doubt. It won't be a hack as such, but more guessing the no doubt simple password (or luring people into giving it up) or more likely answering the usually very easy secret question.

Say what you want about the security issues the PS3 had, but at least Sony were quick to spot where the breach occurred, acknowledged their mistakes and were quick to put a stop to it.
Microsoft continue to bury their heads in the sand and just deny the whole thing while their users continue to be victimised.

It happens on PS3 just as much, like the hardware failures always did as well. The thing with the PSN issue was that it was the network itself that was hacked. It lead to it's users having their details exposed and could have had their identity stolen, never mind their gaming account. On Live they are getting the login details from somewhere else, not Xbox Live itself, so it's hard to see what Microsoft can do about it. They always refund stolen money/points if they can see a valid unauthorised access has occurred. Microsoft's customer service on the Xbox has been great.

I've gone out and bought Dead Island and AC:R earlier. Had a quick half hour on DI, seemed okay but nothing much happend early on. Just strolled around on the beach. Installing AC:R, I've had the previous games and loved them so can't wait to get into this!

Just reading the rumours about the coming games conferences and they seem to be suggesting that the next xbox console will be a tablet rather than a traditional box console.

All sounds very gimmicky and Nintendo-ish to me. I just can not see how they would fit enough tech into a tablet to make it sufficiently powerful? And would it be a tablet plus a controller, or is the tablet used as the controller as well? Or even tablet plus kinnect and no controller? The mind boggles. At this stage I hope it's not true.

I saw a concept photo of a tablet PC that was shown off at the CES that's going on right now, so the technology is certainly possible/plausible. But, like you, I don't like the sound of it.
The Wii-U looks absolutely ridiculous imo and definitely won't be getting one. I much prefer my consoles in the traditional sense, something that lets me play using a nice, big flatscreen tv with a regular controller in my hands.

Digitally distributed content is fine as it is, there's no way it should be replacing fully boxed DVD/Blu-Ray games.

Dead Island is only really worth getting for the co-op/multiplayer. The campaign is pretty gash. Revelations starts off a bit slow but once you get some of the side quests out of the way the story makes a lot more sense, and I have to say I enjoyed the last 2 or 3 hours more than the other 2 Ezio games. I do hope though they don't continue to produce the AC games every year as I think the AC series would be even better with an extra year of development. Oh and the latest update is bugged, some of your achievments won't work.

As for the tablet thing. That should not be allowed to happen.

Not really been a fan of my ps3, I usually just use it for the odd game of Fifa with my mates. But feel like a reborn kid again as I forced myself to open up my copy of uncharted and sit and play it. Loving it. Going to buy number 2 and 3 once I complete this one.

Worth owning a PS3 just for the uncharted series.

Playing U3 made me play U2 again. Playing U2 has made me play the first one again! Best series going! 2 is the best though IMO.

I doubt that this tablet thing is true... but then I see Nintendo's new console, and Sony and Microsofts current tendency to 'follow in their footsteps'.

I'm unsure about the next generation of video games. I reckon we will play games through high speed internet connections like that OnLive service. Who knows.

The only problem for me was the story in U3. Too short and lacked the depth of U2. But I cant help but think we've seen the end of Nathan Drake. The Last of Us however could be Naughty Dog's next flawless project.
