I mentioned this earlier - but drag up any Mitt Romney speech from the past 5 weeks (more so after Obama said what most people think re: gay marriage) .. and it then becomes obvious a small proportion of the US is quite literally stuck in some weird homophobic loop..

The latter of which Fox sued over, not due to content, but to the use of "Fair and Balanced" that they had claimed to have copyright/trademark on.

Your comment about seafood has absolutely nothing to do with me, and I can give you 2 good reasons why this is so. Firstly, I presume you are referring to Mosaic law as laid down in Leviticus. In that case, you ought to know that that law only applied to Jews following the Exodus. That dispensation has now passed and we are currently under the law of grace. I am a Gentile, not a Jew. Even if I lived in ~3000BC this law would not apply to me.

Secondly, the New Testament (you know this was revealed later, right?) says that no foods are forbidden. Check out Paul's letters - all food is now clean.

I suggest you re-examine the scriptures before you make silly remarks like the one addressed above.

You know, you can get a free copy of a 1611 KJV if you contact the Trinitarian Bible Society. You can perhaps then educate yourself out of ignorance, and hopefully a light inside your head might turn on.

I think a seventeenth century book based on the supersitions of bronze age desert nomads is unlikely to "educate myself out of ignorance" as you put it. If anything religion has actively made ignoramuses of humans being for far too long. I'll stick with my OU BSc thanks.

In terms of philosophy, it doesn't really matter whether he existed, the philosophy isn't a bad one.
Shakespeare might not have written Shakespeare but that dosn't affect whether they are good plays or bad plays.

Whether Jesus existed is an important issue for "Christians" though, their religion revolves around his birth, existence, death and resurrection... so much so, that many of them forget the philosophy bit ... i.e. please be nice to each other.

I do not banish the Old Testament. I said that we are not subject to Mosaic Law, as described in the Torah. That doesn't mean the history which is recorded in Genesis, Exodus and the Prophets is ignored.

Well lets face it he's got alot of time to kill.

He makes the Earth, waits 4.5 billion years, then thinks "hang on this place needs Humans!". He then watches on for at least 98,000 years and throws his son down, not to the most advanced region, but in a land of poverty (who then kill him).

And now we all have to wait for another self fulfilling prophecy to happen or for the sun to expand and make this planet inhabitable or for Andromeda to collide with us in 3 billion years.
