Back up your bookmarks, uninstall Firefox completely removing any profiles, reboot, download a fresh copy and install.
That should get you up and running.

What's it doing? It wouldn't let me on yesterday but it does now. Is it an ntlworld email or what?
I've been having this really minor problem on Firefox but it's really getting to me. Every now and then when I click pages up, they load up fine but it acts as though I'm not 'clicked' onto the page, so when I start to scroll it won't let me, so I have to click the page and then start scrolling. Seems so minor, but when you use the scroll thing on your touchpad all the time like I do, it really is so frustrating.

| Firefox has has so many updates recently and it seemed to get its knickers in a knot after a couple of them, I find it best to remove it as above and reinstall.

| Any advice of sites/stores selling desktop processors (without monitor, keyboard etc.)?
Happy to get new or refurbished but looking to spend as little as possible.
The only use it will get is for internet surfing(inc watching the occasional thing on iplayer etc.), itunes, checking emails and for MS Office.
I've had a look on the usual sites (Currys, PC World etc.) and £280 looks to be the cheapest so if anyone can beat that I'd be grateful!
Cheers!

| Can anybody here help me with an android tablet, I've been given a "superpad II", to say it is a pile of junk would be an understatement, but it's only for messing about with and taking on holiday to watch films with etc. I somehow screwed up the installation when trying to reset everything after getting a process error. I've managed to get some functionality via launcher pro, However it isn't running very well at all and none of the games I've installed work anymore. and the things that do work are running very slowly.
I've tried countless ways of reflashing. Button combinations when booting to perform a factory reset just don't work, and from looking on google downloading firmware and installing it via SD card just isn't working. I've created bootable SD cards, Ive formatted it as FAT32 like everything says and put the firmware files onto the root which should install when the machine boots up, but nothing happens. any suggestions?

| What's the proper name for a 'figure 8' power adapter (as below)?
And can you get a USB to figure 8 charging lead? I've had a look on the internet but can't find any.
And if not, why not?!
As always, any help is much appreciated!

I've sent about 3 emails this weekend from this account, and it doesn't appear to be "locked or restricted" in any way, so is this just a phishing email?
[url=http://www.hoax-slayer.com/exceeded-limit-phishing-scam.shtmlChecked, it is, will leave this here as info for others[/url

Simple answer, "yes of course it is"
Any "reputable company" that sends out requests to verify accounts, passwords or other details is a phishing mail.
If you start off from that standpoint about any such email, then you won't go far wrong. Treat every "official" email with suspicion, and go from there.
Microsoft, hotmail, yahoo, google, ebay, apple, amazon, ups etc. will NEVER email you to ask you to verify ANY details in this way.
As a general rule when they genuinely send you an email, they will always address you using some specific personal details (like your name, surprisingly), or will include your postcode, the last few digits of your account number or similar information that is personal to you, but even if they do this, start off from a position of mistrust. If the email starts with "Dear Customer", then it's a fake.
Don't click on web addresses in email, instead enter the address manually (I always type the url for my online banking manually, even in preference to using a bookmark) as it's very easy to "spoof" a link in an email to make it look like it's going to the real site when really it may be taking you to a similar-looking fake site, like this: [url=http://www.rlfans.comwww.amazon.co.uk[/url, which looks like it will take you to Amazon, but will actually take you to rlfans.

| Can anyone help me get shut of the Babylon search engine please?
I downloaded (legally) a program yesterday and this bloody thing was embedded within it. I've managed to get rid of it from IE but FF is proving a little more difficult. I've lost the Babylon menu bar and seem to have also got shut of all Babylon-related files on my 'puter but at every re-start, the home page opens with babylon search.
I've tried all the suggestions found on google, including amending settings in FF 'about:config' but the damn thing keeps returning. Although it appears to be benign, it's not doing my bloody crust in. Any help appreciated.

| Anyone familiar with resetting Google Nexus 7 tablets? Lad in work has one and he's somehow put a password on it that he doesn't remember putting in. Every now and then it lets him on it via the face recognition that doesn't always come on on the lock screen. He's tried to usual "hold the power and the volume buttons", but when he gets to the screen with the little android lay on its side, it still says locked and won't allow him the chance to do anything.

I've got the 500gb version of that. Had it 2 years and not had any problems at all with it. I formatted mine with the exFAT format to work with both Windows and Mac.
