Or a wannabe PM doing the same. IMO Corbyn is more directly responsible for the anti Jewish venom in the Labour Party than Johnson is for one (too many) lad on a hospital floor

| But Johnson is responsible for the NHS the expansion of food banks, increased poverty and the increase in racist attacks. Which party recently had to remove members for being both anti Semitic and Islamophobia.

| I note as expected the right wing press completely ignore the NHS on their front page instead focussing on his threat to the funding of the BBC as instructed from central office or that Lord Sugar is backing Johnson. I have noticed he made a similar threat about Channel 4 when they replaced him with an ice carving. He is also suggesting that the Supreme Court should be political appointees like the US because they ruled against him. He must think he is still at Eton and he can bully those that disagree with him.
I saw that a former Conservative MP suggested it was the reporter’s fault because he kept asking him to look at the picture, that must have taken some working out. He is getting more like Trump by making stupid and incorrect statements and then getting others to face the public and back up his bafoonery.
With regards facing the public unlike Corbyn if he is advised that there are demonstrators he just does not appear.

| Squeaky bum time for some. Based [isolely on my personal experience[/i, I'd say a reasonable Tory majority is likely, but it only takes a few twists to put Labour in based on a coalition of the left/remain.
I'm seeing a huge volume of anti-Labour language on local (mostly traditional Labour) community social media sites - even a massive Labour seat like Leigh is balanced on a knife edge, and in the last few days has swung to a predicted Tory win. But it depends where those ex-Labour votes go - split them between Tory and BP and Labour take it.
Plus you could stick a red rosette on a turd in some seats like Wigan and Labour would still win.
Thursday is going to be very interesting.

And you hit the nail on the head, people vote Labour because they always have, not because they understand what is at stake. There are many on here that just ignore Corbyn's past as a terrorist sympathiser, his anti UK stance, anti Military stance, Anti Semitism, but it's all about Boris not wanting to appear on the left wing BBC and being misrepresented constantly.

| Or ITV, Piers Morgan, Channel 4, The Public, Radio 2 and any unscripted interviews that could not be vetted by his aides. He won’t always be able to run into a freezer to avoid any questions.
I suppose if he wins and starts negotiating with the USA and China we will need to bring a fridge along should it get tough and he needs to hide away. I bet it was a trick he used when he was avoiding detection by any disgruntled mothers to his children, if he actually admit to their existence.

Seriously, are you about five years old or what? Your grasp on actual issues and your casual questioning of people's patriotism is childlike.

Genuine question. How many of those posts do you think are honest, genuine posts, and how many of them do you think are sock puppet accounts?
If there's one thing anyone should have learnt during this campaign, it's to be highly sceptical and questioning of what you read on social media. Tuesday's 'events' being prime examples. And don't say nobody falls for it. Some of the most prominent 'journalists' were propagating everything they could about the 'Leeds hospital punch', which turned out to be nothing of the sort. Peston even admitted he was fed the line by senior Tories in his apology. We'll not even go into the young lad on the hospital floor. It's amazing how so many former paediatric nurses emerged on social media that day, and all with exactly the same worded post.
Go on twitter now and see how many single mothers are voting Tory for the first time, then look at the date they joined twitter. I can guarantee they all joined in November 2019. Also, have a look at how many lifelong Labour voters are apparently scared of the security risk Corbyn poses, therefore they'll be voting Tory for the first time. It's playing on the weak, the vulnerable, the frightened, and the confused. See how it works?
You could argue that there are Labour/Green accounts of a similar ilk, and there are, but you could counter argue that they have far more gravitas, as they've had 9 actual years experience of coalition and Tory rule.
My retired Mum keeps asking me how she can join Facebook. If she can't work it out for herself, there's no way I'm feeding her to the lions! Within a week, she'd be buying magic beans, sending all her money to Prince Ngobu of Nigeria, and worse still, voting Tory.

I think Leigh will still be Labour after today, but with a reduced majority. Jo Platt has only surfaced this last few weeks from wherever she has been hiding.
I read all the political stuff on social media regarding my home town and peoples views, I am reading more and more anti Labour than pro Labour.
Alas though, people will moan about Labours lack of representation in Leigh, but will still vote for them.
And you are right about sticking a red rosette on a turd.

See previous couple of posts.
I could easily say the same about Tory or Brexit voting people in certain areas. Just because people vote labour doesn't mean they would always do it, just means that they dont have the same views as the "I'm alright Jack, pull the ladder up on everyone else, nationalistic, fake news, in it for themselves, couldn't give a monkey's about others (and I could go on) voting Tory's for example .
I've had my debates internally about who to vote for, what I will say is that this thread over the last week or so has certainly convinced me of what type of person i dont want to become and who i definitely Will Not be voting for.

Same here.
Mainly, I don't want to be the type of person who 'picks a side' and then becomes a mouthpiece for spewing out their crappy lines.
It's bad enough hearing the same lines from politicians, I don't want people on my social media feed spamming me with them. If someone wants to post their own individual political views thats fine I just don't want to hear the same predictable crap and the same predictable takes on whatever media event happens (classic example being the picture of the boy on the hospital floor). Think about things yourself rather than just being told what view to take and repeating it.

| I like to think I have a social conscience hence I do not like anything about the current government who appear to preach look after number one and if you fall through the gaps tough. If you have money you can fast track your visa to enter the UK, if not good luck because we are shut.
The problem is that what we do to the citizens of the EU they will do to us.

No offence but I don't need lessons on social media. As it happens I only really bother with facebook; lost all interest in the absolute cockwomble-fest that is ter a long time ago. Most of the groups I'm referring to are closed groups, and I always take a quick look at profiles posting such comments - I genuinely haven't seen any bearing the usual hallmarks of a questionable profile.

Positive for Labour. The Conservatives will not get as many seats as in the record Thatcher win in 1973.(397)
Negative for Labour. They will not get as many seats as they won in 1973(209).

Sometimes difficult to differentiate between a terrorist sympathiser and a freedom fighter. Thatcher made that mistake with Nelson Mandela.
Chances of a left leaning government in the UK in the next decade are remote following today but one will eventually emerge, just as night follows day.

Left leaning yes - Corbyns Marxist hybrid no. And that was the real problem for Labour.

| Looking at some of the red to blue seats, it seems the fabled 'Workington Man' really does exist. Let's hope they get what they think they're going to get, because the backlash will be quite a thing to witness if he becomes Out-of-Work-ington Man. Who knows where the blame will be directed in that scenario!

| A terrible night for Labour, just like the horrendous campaign by Michael Foot in the late 70's.
Corbyn needs to go and Labour have to re engage with the centre left of the electorate.
% years to make a new plan as I think that Boris will be looking to stick to the fixed term for this parliamentary session.
Will Scotland and N. Ireland still be part of the Union when the next GE comes around
