Black Ops on veteran is difficult...no hang on its cheap

Still not as difficult as Goldeneye N64 -The Cradle on hardest setting

Hi guys got a problem, got my psp cracked screen fixed and I have to change my password, before I go on network store. ( I guess it was with the hacking a few months back) anyway can't change password on network site it says under maintenance, is it down or am I clicking a wrong link?

The AI's dribbling just seems faultless and so easy for them to do it. Yet I do get the same results.

I'm playing on Professional (I think) but tweaked the AI's performance from 50 to 47 on things such as Pass speed, shot speed etc, from the in-game menu.

The knock on is where you flick the right stick in the direction you want to knock the ball. It is very useful when you are clear down the wing or on goal and it stops the defenders catching you up. It means that you can sprint without having the ball under close control, exploiting a players pace. On FIFA 12 you can now flick the right stick twice and the player will knock the ball further meaning they don't have to slow down to keep the ball under control. Just sprint with RT and flick the right stick whereever you want to go.

Against the AI one of the most useful tricks is the roll over. When you are in possession with a winger and are facing with a defender, hold LT/L2 and push the right stick to the outside of the defender. Time it right and the AI will try to make a tackle and miss, leaving you past them and them running the wrong way. Combine that with the knock on and you'll be away.

Some of them are obviously less useful in practice. Just don't overdo them as you will get tackled more often than not if you do. I find the roll over useful when taking on wingers, the berba spin when you've got the ball on the edge of the box with a striker and the heel chop when you are getting closed down in midfield.

Got 3 straight promotions into Division 7 Online now, much prefer playing on PSN than career mode.

I've found that most people just choose Barcalona or Man City and try to score from through balls and chipped through balls, meaning a lot of matches can be very boring, when I have played offline it's been quite a chore TBH, get bored very easily. Chelsea and Stoke are my teams of choice too, or West Ham if I fancy using the unit that is John Carew!

I'll always remember never being able to complete one of the two secret levels you unlocked after doing everything on all the other levels, the Egyptian Temple. It had Baron Samedi in and the Golden Gun that would kill you straight away. One of my all time gaming regrets never being able to finish that it was solid!

What was so magical about Goldeneye though was the multi-player - one of the key reasons why i didnt attend as many lectures as i should of done!

How long have hand balls be on FIFA? I was losing to Fulham in the league cup in a rainy evening game. The pitch was like treacle and I couldn't break them down at all.

I was also getting majorly wound up by Tyldsley's commentary and his pronunciation of Drenthe and Jones, which were in a totally different key to the rest of his commentary.

But in the last minute I just had a shot from about 30 yards. One of the Fulham defenders stuck out an arm when trying to block it and I got a pen. It looked really good, the Fulham players went crazy.

I doubt most people will have the money for a PC that will run that better than an Xbox.

You have to turn them on in the settings. You can have them off completely, on (except penalties), or just on. It certainly comes in handy when you can't break a team down - just put loads of crosses into the box and they are bound to handball it some time.

Never tried it but I thought games and AI had moved on from never ending spawning enemies and trigger points. SOG on Black Ops veteran is as cheap and nasty as gaming gets. Pop out of cover for less than 1 sec, dead. You even get killed in a cutscene you have no control over.

Got told in a lecture last year (Games Programming at the time) that a company developed a revolutionary AI system for a game where the AI adapted to your strengths, and attacked your weaknesses on higher settings. They released this to the beta testers and it was widely panned. When they just made their health reduce less and attacks do more, the testers decided it was fantastic.

It can be done a lot cheaper these days. Still slightly more than buying a console mind. Got myself a nice little motherboard and cpu/ram bundle for £300 quid a few months ago, recycled a few old pc parts and it performs really well! played fifa 12 on the xbox and pc and was shocked at how little difference there actually was! Only the odd game however that I think is more suited to a pc than a console.

So who's getting Dark Souls then?
My copy was dispatched yesterday, so with a bit of luck it might be waiting for me when I get home from work today. If not, then certainly Thursday (which is when I was expecting it to arrive originally).

The game has been generating some really impressive review scores, despite it being one of the hardest games (if not THE hardest) this generation of gaming has ever seen.

Probably not me. The reviews do sound great but the overriding conclusion is that you won't enjoy playing it.

If I was off work for 6 months I might give it a go.

Dont know what it is about Fifa 12 but I really dont like it.

Cant put my finger on it but im not enjoying it this year. Might have to sell it to fund Forza 4.

the sense of Achievement when you down a boss of epic size is great though one of the only games that cause you to fist pump due to spending several hours sobbing as you are massacered in 1-2 hits

Indeed, I can see why people would play it. It sounds like a fine game. But I don't have days and days to devote to it anymore.

One of the reviews mentions how cruel it is and how it can take 10 hours of real time just to cure yourself of a curse cast by a frog which halves your health. Imagine doing that and then getting hit by it again? 10 hours?

Sold mine to CEX yesterday for 28 quid. My step dad bought it aswell anyway so if I decide I want to put myself through playing it again I can always borrow it. I haven't enjoyed it anything like previous games.

Must be one hell of a game!

I remember doing the cradle on hardest but it was a hard slog. I was in year 9-10 at school when this game was around so spent hours and hours just playing it, also had my mates round for 4 player multiplayer every day too. It was Ocarina of time when I was in my last year of school that took over my life though. Can't do that now though, I bought Resident Evil 4 on the Playstation Network the other week and think I've only had an hour on it so far!

Right that's me finished with FIFA 12, mother loving ea servers keep disconnecting while playing ultimate team and kicking me back to the home screen. Tonight, last game in a tournament 2-1 up 89th minute, loses connection to ea servers, game over have to log in and play it again.
Stupid stupid way of playing the ultimate team, I'm not even playing an online game. EA can go and love right off with this FIFA. Load of poopy doo.

I've not even bothered going online with it yet. In the weeks after release it's swamped. The problem you've got is a known issue and they are promising to sort it ASAP. Just leave it a month and it will be fine.

I haven't picked 12 up yet with having to send the Xbox on a short trip to Germany due to a 'minor malfunction' involving a 2 year old and a disk drive, and I'm now having real 2nd thoughts about doing so.

I'm still playing, and enjoying, FIFA 10. Might stick with this for another year, or maybe even give ProEvo a bash, just for a bit of variety.
