Maybe I should be playing on semi pro first to get used to it, But ive just played 3 games, had between 60 and 75% possesion, had around 10 shots compared to the oppositions 2... and yet im still being beaten in what feels like an impossible situation, super opposition goalies, conceding the softest goals possible. probably foolish to be using wigan ath as my team mind.

You are doing a lot better than me on semi pro on the demo. I could play for a day and not create a chance. Used to play FIFA 11 on legendary as well.

On my third game now, as already mentioned defending will take alot getting used to.
When I'm dribbling with the ball and a defender close to me. How do I 'cut' back inside to lose my man?

Possibly the hardest game I've ever played. Getting the ball off even ty teams is the hardest thing ever.

Its near impossible at times. As soon as your closing and press B to tackle, The player will just skip around and pass with ease. quite often i find myself closing down a cpu player, and they literally run from my half to their own corner and boot it out for a throw in to me.

I was hoping I could enjoy this game despite the fact that its so different. But its doing nothing but wind me up and its not good for my health!

On Fifa, like when you're running down the wing. The AI always does it to me, basically changes direction instantly and loses his marker.

I'm still getting used to this, finding defending quite challenging which is good really.

I try and jockey but players just run past you, not that effectie.

Is it the fake?

Nobody told me there was two sets of commentators on this Fifa. I start up a game just then and I'm greeted by Clive 'ROOOONEY!' Tyldesley and Andy Townsend. Crazy stuff.

You can do it a a few ways. Either hold both triggers to go into 'skilled dribbling' and you can turn sharper than you would otherwise. Or you can let go of sprint and hold LB to go into the slow 'precision dribbling' for a moment to turn 90 degrees. Or with a reasonably skillful player (And easily with someone like Ronaldo) you can just let go of the trigger and push the right stick in the direction you want to knock the ball. So for example of you are running down the right wing to the right of the screen, flicking the right stick up would knock it inside and if the defender doesn't cut it out, they'll keep on running straight while you cut inside.

My past three games on Fifa have been commentated by Clive and Andy. Is it a permanent change or what?

I dunno, there have always been 2 sets of commentators on it, it's not a late change they've done via an update or anything.

Is there no pattern to it ,like different commentators for different competions whe playing career mode?

It's on FUT. I've been playing random sides, but it started when I played PSV.

I've never known Clive Tyldesley to be on Fifa, I've known him to be on the world cup games, but never the seasonal Fifa games. Either way, they keep on commentating after I pause it.

EA Sports have paid Leeds Utd 10 grand for them to appear on the front cover, a few other teams have done this too. You can buy the Leeds front cover from the club shop and some copies of the game already have the Leeds cover on too. Not a bad idea!

They commentated on my league cup game whereas Alan Smith and Martin Tyler commentate on my league games.

Have you tried doing the fake? Where you go to shoot/cross and then hit X and fake into another direction?

I've found the control to be better. I'm now starting to find semi-pro really easy, which is obvious, so I'll up it tonight. However, if it instantly turns to God mode like the last few versions, I won't bother as I can't stand it when I'm forced to play the same way, I like to enjoy it.

FIFA is far better this year from the bits I've played. The defending is far, far better, the improvement is remarkable. It is challenging but so rewarding if you do the right things and stay patient.

The attacking is also far more varied, the AI seem to change how they defend as the game goes on and there finally seems to be some context awareness. If you are leading the AI will try to push on and attack and leave itself open. The dribbling on the game is just brilliant. It's so much more realistic this year, if you've got a mismatch in speed, it's exploitable. It's such a buzz standing a fullback up with step overs or a ball roll as Royston Drenthe before knocking it past him and running onto it. The double knock on is a great addition this year (I presume it's new as I'd never seen it before).

But the difficulty have been ramped up. I was playing 11 on legendary, but I've only just started winning on professional on 12. I tried world class once in a friendly and got truly anhililated by Nottingham Forest.
