| Well here is a question I bet any Brexiter can't answer.
What do think can happen on the morning of formal separation from the EU that you could not have done the day before?
(The answer is of course nothing).
I can't claim this as an original thought.
It is paraphrased from [url=https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2017/feb/15/brexiteers-blame-milk-honey-delusional-expectations-gove-johnsonhere.[/url
Very good article that explains why that whatever people who voted to leave expected or wanted to get, they won't get any of it.

| Not sure why people are so hung up on Brexit from an economic perspective. With huge business rate increases kicking in from April the government looks likely to be creating a major, self-induced recession and increased in unemployment. Ally that with the possibility of the USA being either isolationist or ripping off the UK in any trade arrangements (the latter more likely IMO) and we run the risk of going from star-performing advanced economy to basket case over the next couple of years.

Rates are increasing due to having cut social spending over the last 6/7 years of austerity from the Conservative (+ Libdem) government.
The have rock all to do with The EU.
You are possibly right about not much changing on day 1 after formal separation begins but, there will be some legal changes instantly.
They may not be visible but for sure, they will happen.

You can't possibly know that as it will depend on the size of the economy, population, tax burden, tax take, etc.

Even Farage has distanced himself from that one
With the £45/65 billion settlement figure to come up with, before we can actually leave, there isn't going to be too much left over to "invest" in anything.
Still, Britannia can rule the waves again and "Made in Britain" will be the new catch phrase to save us all from poverty.
There aren't too many Brexitiers who noticed this in their "research".

We have to cm back our share of the EU's c. £120 billion of assets. Should be able to offset that against the settlement figure.

Awesome.
What do we contribute, around 10-11% of EU funding?
I reckon we might still be out of pocket in the settlement, only just though.

We have been 2nd biggest contributor for years. Our share is estimated at a surprisingly large amount and very significant in terms of the 'exit bill' being claimed. At last our government seems to be showing that it can play the EU at their own game.

I'm being serious. I'm really looking forward to seeing the final settlement bill come down from a massive amount to just a huge amount. Those little victories eh, that'll teach em.

Don't worry, we'll end up making a profit on this. The big danger is that there is no EU to get out of by the time we get round to leaving - Holland and France look like they may shake things up. It is imperative that we get out asap - hard Brexit tomorrow for me, otherwise we may pick up a big chunk of the bill for the collapse of the whole charade.

That would be an interesting scenario.
IF we have triggered article 50 and are in the process of leaving, but not actually out, would we still be liable for any "unexpected" cost's that were thrown at us ?
At what point are we clear of all ties (that is assuming that we are going for full political and trading Brexit).

Yep it's all going swimmingly for the Nationalists, soon they can all be separate entities again.
Oh what fun it was back in the good old days of gangs of European countries battling it out, rather that than this united faux friend stuff right?

If the EU crumbles and disappears then you may be right but, there isn't a hope in hell that the UK will be better of financially outside the EU.
If the EU stays in place, they HAVE to make it harder to be on the outside, than it is as a member, or, why would anyone want to be in the club.
Be sure to count the "profit" from your next trip overseas, the "£" is worth slightly more than a gold bottle top and it's still falling.
It's all good though, no, really it is.

Whether Blair is right or wrong, his personal credibility is none existent and nobody is going to listen to him.
He'd be better placed, concentrating on his other interests.
