5 seconds later she has to sit there with that awful silence which you could see was her thinking 'oh rubbish' when he read her own statement back to her from May.

I watched the interview last night after reading about it on here. Quality viewing. I love seeing Paxman in that mood.

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear.

It was clear that she had only heard about it that day, wasn't properly briefed and was sent (or allowed to volunteer to enter) into Paxo's lions den even though she had previously defended keeping the duty rise in place.

Shambles.

TBH, Paxo could have twisted the knife even more but, after he'd ascertained and made it clear that she knew nowt and was only following orders, he let her live.

As if she'd been involved in the consideration at all

Being evasive and sarcastic(as I mentioned previously) puts Paxman in that kind of mood IMHO.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not judging her on her looks, they are incidental, nothing more. She's a tory and I've never yet met a good one, some are less bad than others but I've still to meet one thyat I could describe as good. It's just that with Greening and Jowell for that matter, radio is probably the best media. In fact, given the fugliness of the whole of the panel last night, they'd have been better to have appeared on Any Questions tonight, with Dimbleby minor
