I heard a comment on the radio that he has been on hunger strike for twelve years and fed via a tube for all that time, putting the fact that its Ian Brady to one side, should our prison service be doing things like that, theres something that just doesn't feel right about the fact that we're forcing someone to stay alive, just because we can.

To be fair . Regardless of his history ( and as much as think that this individual should have hanged a long time ago ) ,him nearing his termination under his present circumstances is nothing to be celebrated . The past is the past . And he was punished under the regulations current way back then . The death or suffering of anyone is not a thing to celebrate .

That isn't why they are doing it, the reason is that because he is sectioned, then under the Mental Health Act they [ihave[/i to do it as being sectioned he is deemed not to be able to make a reasoned decision, and if they did not, they would be breaking the law. I think in this respect, at least, his identity is irrelevant.

I agree. I think whatever your particular political 'leaning' is, it is hard to find one MP from any party with an ounce of gravitas these days.

I will really struggle to vote at the next election, none of them are trustworthy, none of them keep promises, none of them atually do anything for the "greater good" (whatever you perceive that to be)

Am I correct in thinking that Brady has a photo of Myra Hindley in his cell, taken on Saddleworth Moor, which would help identify Keith Bennett's grave. Burt of course it can't be investigated because that would infringe Brady's human rights.

Maybe not, but an indication off photographs would be a start.

They took Hindley up onto the moors (a couple of times ?) with photographs but were unable to pinpoint the exact locations - the photography experts on here will tell you but I imagine that if you are trying to judge how far away you are from a distant feature then your error of margin could be several hundred yards, even if you've got the correct straight line - you're then searching a peat moor which varies in depth and may even have shifted over the years (including its contents) and you're looking for bits of bones by prodding with spikes or using cadaver dogs, or even using ground radar - its a tall order.

They took Brady up shortly after Pauline Reade's body was found, but he couldn't pinpoint anything either. I don't think he could pinpoint it, even if he really wanted to with the shifts on the moor.

I doubt they'll ever find it until some unfortunate soul drives past his bones on the motorway or a dog finds them when fetching a stick.
