Quote ="jonh"Yes the team did well without them, the only way we would ever know if they were missed is to replay the game under the same conditions with Saints playing the exact same way but add them to the Wigan side.
We beat Leeds 2 years ago with Barrett out of the side and Coyle playing in the halves, we won, and played very well, so by your theory the fact we played well and Coyle was in the team meant that we did not miss Barrett and hence he was not needed?
I understand the point you are trying to make, but it is not as simple as saying they were not missed, simply that on this occasion the team played very well and they were not in it.
I do actually agree with you regards Hansen in that he is in serious danger of becoming surplus to requirements when his contract runs out, much in the same way it seems Bailey is becoming this year.'"
I agree with your points. But consistently we'll do well without Hansen, we wouldn't without our main play maker Barrett.
Bailey is a solid player, like Hansen, but I want to see more from them to warrent their stay. A spell in the reserves for Hansen may do him good.
