We don't have a single quota player as far as I know.
We have a massive three players born outside of the UK, but are all signed to Sheffield Eagles.
How does it feel to be the feeder team of someone else? Serious question.
You can't be happy with the way your club is being used at the moment? Warrington reserves?
Never really had an issue with Swinton but if I could choose one team to get relegated it'd be you, because the whole dual reg farce is making a mockery of the competition, and Swinton are by far the biggest offenders.

| Born in Wellington. He's Italian.
And Daneo. Not sure if he still counts but we can't reissue squad number 23.

| ..and the ref is that infamous J Cobb............... so Swinton must be in with a chance after his performance at Barrow.
ps.....some stats for you all...........
Menzie needs 1 try to make 100 in his Eagles career
[Daryl scored 114 in 312 games at a strike rate of 0.365 tries per game, Menzie is on 0.755 tries per game (in 131 games)
"Q" needs one try for 80... his strike rate is 1.03 tries per game
Hendo's next game is his 90th for Eagles
Misi needs 4 tries for 50 and 4 more games for his 100th
Knowles next game will be his 50th.
Dom needs 1 goal for 70 and 1 point for 160 in championship games this season; 5 points for 450 in Eagles career
Menzie, Q, Mitch, Dom, Hendo have played in every Championship game this season.

Swinton didn't invent dual reg nor have they broke any rules, Hunslet have used Dual Reg just as we have, so have Leigh.
Am I happy about it well let's look at the harsh realities we don't run a reserve team so have no way of bringing on our own talent in which case we have to look at fringe players from other clubs or those who just want to move on aka Tom Armstrong who you got from us. The link with Warrington offered Swinton enhanced training facilities and access to other areas of sport such as conditioning coaches, performance analysis non of which are available on crowds of 400 - 500., we would have been stupid to turn down that offer which of course came at a price of offering Warrington somewhere for them to develop their young talent. Yes we have used Adrain Morley, Lee Briars and Paul Wood this season but are you telling me that if those players were offered to any of the lower teams and indeed the teams in the higher half of the table they would turn them down...I doubt it. Yet nothing is said when Hunslet include Richard Moore and Whitehaven Adi Gardner.
Trust me i'd like nothing better than to get back to the days when all teams ran an A-Team and supplemented their squad from those ranks but sadly RL isn't like that anymore it sold it's soul to Sky and Super League.
You and others can have their opinion about Swinton but remember I didn't ever see the RL actively trying to save us when we hit hard times back in the 80's loosing our ground etc.......their was no search for a Rich benefactor then as was the case recently with Salford Bradford and will be the case if Castleford hit the buffers. Other clubs have been allowed to die, just look at Blackpool and Bramley all because they fall outside of the Super League remit. So if it means we link with Warrington and their players play a part in keeping us in this division then for now I can live with it.

| I actually don't have an issue with dual reg as a concept, as long as it is used correctly. No issue with Warrington youngsters turning out for Swinton to get some first team exposure, but the likes of Morley, Briers etc playing for one game makes it look like a reserve grade competition. And yes, absolutely the same applies to Hunslet's attempts to play Kylie Leuluai.
Do I blame Gary Chambers for playing the likes of Briers and Morley? Not at all, he'd be daft to reject them. The blame probably lies at the feet of Warrington themselves, and for the RFL for allowing it to happen.
It can't be easy for loyal Swinton fans like yourself, hope you 'get your club back' so to speak and reclaim your own identity soon because, from the outside looking in, it looks like it's quickly disappearing. Which is a shame for such a traditional club.

That'll be why we got no central funding in 1984/85 or 2000.
The fact is that the RFL fall over themselves to favour clubs along the M62 corridor.

| It wasn't the best tonight but job done the first half was really poor with the ref seemingly a wire fan! but that said we weren't at the races. I didn't think swinton offered much if anything
The start to the second half simply blew them away and it was game over hirst got man of the match nozza was great as usual and mezie back to form
Again it wasn't the best but a win is a win
onwards and upwards 15 in a row happy days

Well done on a convincing win and really good luck for the next two games.
As for the ref being a Wire fan (like we ain't heard that old chestnut before.) Can you please explain how he gave you possession at the end of the first half when the ball was cleanly fielded by our player.

| Embarrassing amount of knock ons - from both teams!
We were nothing like our best, perhaps minds on next week which is somewhat unavoidable. Swinton were a really poor side.
I agree with you Marshy about us getting the ball at the end of the first half, confused me.

I think to sugest we are a poor side is unfair. What we are,as with a number of teams in the bottom half,is a side which is a million miles away from competing with the top four or five in the championship.

I simply can't to be fair, there was a couple of knock ons given against us in that first half where the ball IMO clearly went backwards saying that the ball shouldn't have gone loose anyway as said far too many dropped balls. How long were swinton players allowed to hold down tackled players i won't drivel on about it its done now
All the best Marshy

| Still not sure how the officials gave that forward pass that cost the Eagles a try. All three were nowhere near up with play. Some very pernickity penalties that helped to make this game one of the worst I've seen in ages. Having said that, the ref and TJs didn't keep knocking on, which was the main problem.
As for Swinton, I wouldn't say they were poor as I think that's disrespectful. They are certainly struggling to be anywhere near the top 5, but they aren't the only ones.
I've not been able to get to many games this year, but I've seen one very high quality game (Halifax in the league at BL) and three or four really poor ones, where Sheffield played at about 50% of their best and still won at a canter.
