Menzie is Menzie he'll never change,Been suspended three times in three years,averages out once a season,Not that bad really,Take the ferocious tackling out of Menzie you will lose half the player,Carryon as normal,Unlucky he's banned but just get on with it,He never gets injured so can cope with a player playing 95% of games in a season,You can take the odd game suspension,Bit like playing sunday and then manning up 4 days later against Leigh when people said we had no chance with the quick turnaround,Thats life and just get on with it,Bring on sunday and the trophy back to Sheffield.

What I can't do with is the daft denial as to how he is! The "he's hard but fair routine"! His technique is always likely to get him into bother and if you are prepared to front it up as you suggest when he gets a ban cos he's gone too far, then fair do's! It's natural you would want to defend him - he's one of your players and (some) Leigh fans are miffed because he's now been banned as a result video evidence that was not dealt with by the ref at the time. A decision which may well have changed the course of the game.

I believe the tackle was dangerous as I believed the tackle of Heppy was - got got banned for both.
He's an aggressive player with an attrocious technique and who is generally very clumsy. Unless he changes his technique or it is coached out of him - there is a distanct possibility that someone will get hurt by him and an almost certainty that he will see more of the disciplinary panel!
Get him on a pay as you play deal:- that'll smarten him up!!

Would you issue God with a play as you play,The thing is everyone loves the way that Menzie is,He is a player you cant wait to get the ball and i love his bonecrunching challenges,You cant and wont change Menzie

You might find yourself paying to NOT watch him play more often = increasing pressures on the team = poorer results etc etc etc!

I think its just the case that a couple of incidents have happened close together and mountains being made out of molehills,Now people questioning his technique when its not really been in question before,If one of the incidents was at the start of the season and the other at the end,Nothing would have been said really,There are far dirtier players in the game who actually maliciously go out to hurt or inflict injury on other players on purpose.

This is exactly it, he's made two dangerous tackles in a small space of time so there is a lot of attention surrounding him. Before these incidents he had been banned once in two seasons. Yes he has a suspect tackling technique but I don't believe he goes into any tackle with the intention of injuring someone.

I don't doubt that - that's why I said IMO he was 'clumsy' as opposed to deliberately dirty.

I'm not yelling from the rooftops "ban him for life" like some would. It's a hard game - mistakes, - genuine mistakes happen. People genuinely mis-time tackles, go high when that wasn't the intention, instinctively put an arm out to stop someone who is almost past them and in doing so flatten them etc

When 2 "mistakes" do happen so close together it will prompt people to review his technique within those games - not the ones months before.

RFF,If i see Menzie Sunday,I will tell him that you are willing to let him practice a new style of tackling technique on yourself,I cant guarantee it will only take one attempt though

Nowt special about menzie, played against much tougher and dirtier than him in the amateur game and dont forget thats with a poor ref and no linesmen, his technique is shiiite and if he doesnt change he will keep getting banned simples
