| Hard to realise now that Swinton were once one of the top teams and could boast players such as John Stopford, Alan Buckley, Ken Gowers and Albert Blan.
Should be a comfortable win but sadly I won't be there as we have a meeting to discucc finances (or lack of them) at my Church and as I am a fund raiser I have to be there.

That is an atrocious OP though, not even the obligatory 0-0?
As it goes this will be the second game I've missed this season after Donny in the NRC earlier in the campaign. Down South the night before and won't be back up in time. We should win though, Swinton are one of the basement clubs and I'll be disappointed if we don't pick up three points with relative ease.
Swinton 12-56 Eagles.

Scratch that, I'm going now.

| Glad to see you are all so confident of beating our basement club...the team who lost in the last second to both Fev and Fax?
Heres to a good game. Travel safely.

| I don't think we did take Swinton lightly. Maybe the fans thought we would win by a few more but Swinton surprised me and to say you only got close to us because we took you lightly is doing yourselves an injustice. I think you're wide of the mark saying we were lucky to win though, your goal line defence wasn't good enough to keep us out and we scored two more tries than yourselves, despite handing you one on a plate.
You've got a few good players, I'Anson makes you tick quite effectively and the centre who was wearing number four was outstanding I thought, no idea how Penney got the man of the match in front of him.
As far as we're concerned it wasn't a vintage performance but we got the job done. Always managed to keep our noses in front once we hit the lead which was important I thought.
I didn't think the ref had too bad a game despite the incessant whinging from some Swinton supporters. Claiming offside after EVERY tackle and a forward pass at least once every set was becoming incredibly tiresome.
Swinton aren't far off in my opinion, but you're down there for a reason, maybe you need to match your home form on the road? I don't know, hopefully the new ground will put some wind in your sails.
Brambani limped off for us which is a worry.

| Penny 5 played very well for Swinton.
Mr Hewer with a skin colour between David Dickenson and Jodie Marsh was his usual bad self for both sides but perhaps a better referee may have put the first half tackle on Misi.
My Eagles motm Nozzer for yet another selfless hardworking performance.

| In addition the curse of Cutts Travel has been laid to rest (albeit a very minor blip) which makes me wonder whether HL is actually the true Mr Jinx.
The blip was missing the M1 exit and doing an almost complete circuit of the roundabout I say almost because we actually went back onto the M62 LOL

| Yes the being offside at every tackle and the continuous forward passing was tiresome but despite that I'd say you lot just about deserved the win
We are half a season of experience away from beating the likes of yourselves and our results against all the top sides prove it. Indeed we could have won yesterday uf we hadn't given the ball away so much, but indeed thats as much as the difference was yesterday that little lack of experience.
Sheffield are a very strong team with no weaknesses from 1 to 17.
I certainly enjoyed the match.

HL travel ran a very successful trip to Carcassonne...with no flight delays either!

What makes you think Swinton were taken lightly ? It was pretty much the same team as last week. We didn't rest anybody.

| I saw Swinton play Halifax the other week and narrowly (and unluckily) lose so I wasn't taking anything for granted. I think Swinton are a far better team than either York or Hunslet. It has to be said that the two interception tries we gave away, plus missing two relatively easy kicks, did make the score look closer than it should have been, but Swinton jumped on our mistakes, and credit to them. I think the point about experience is very valid. We struggled the first couple of seasons in this division. I thought all in all it was a very entertaining game, if a little nerve wracking for us.

| It'll be me then. I've been on more late trains than I've had hot dinners (although technically the fact they're late is more to do with the train companies than me, so I'm not responsible for the delays!!!). I used to have a mate who kept a record of all the delayed trains he'd been on throughout a season. In 1981 the delays totalled 486 minutes. That's 8 hours and 6 minutes. Of course, several Eagles supporters experienced a similar delay in ONE TRIP returning from Carcassonne!!!

| He could be quite amusing actually. He was a French teacher ( a teacher of French, that is, not a teacher who IS French) and one of his favourite tricks was to find a young programme seller and pretend to be a non English speaking French supporter wanting a programme. After speaking fluent French at them for 4 or 5 minutes, with them getting more and more flustered, he'd then say something like "Ok, can I have a programme please?" in his BROAD LANCASTRIAN accent, shove the money into their hands and walk off. Another favourite was asking if they had any programmes left, and if they said yes, he'd say "Well you shouldn't have printed so many then". I suppose you had to be there.
