The game will take place on Friday 10th September with a 7:30 kick off. This is official and agreed by both clubs. I realise it's less than ideal but let's try and get a respectable fan base up there and hopefully cheer the boys on to the final eliminator.

I've been asked by the club to say that we were obliged to play Friday night under RFL bylaws, they made it clear that that's when they wanted the game and weren't going to have their minds changed. The club realises it's less than ideal and would have preferred the game to have been played on the Saturday or the Sunday.

The Club plans to run a coach but need to know numbers by 3 pm on Tuesday,
the planned departure is 2.30 pm.

Please let Denise know as soon as possible.

If we don't get a coach up and you've got some spare seats in your motor, let people know. There could be a lot of disappointed people out there on Friday.

A colourfully worded email has been sent to the RFL about this (from which i expect no reply). I cant understand why it cant be saturday or sunday as its not on sky. I understand its an RFL byelaw of some kind but i think we deserve a sensibe explanation. Im sure Barrow would have preffered the weekend as well.

No, it's about playing round 3 on Thursday. We would only hav e four days rest if the Barrow game's on Sunday, whereas the opposition would have a full week.

If we'd beat Fev last year, we would have played Widnes on Friday for precisely that reason.

On the other hand, Saturday would have been a decent compromise.

I understand but that's a bit thin. Especially given the distance involved. Surely the "common sense" option should apply?

I've seen your dad's car. Surely there's enough room for a couple of dozen extra passengers.

Can't miss this one; I had a gig last Thursday (the only Thursday night gig this year!) and didn't get watch it til late Friday - well worth the wait though. It'll be our first visit to the wonderful Furness peninsula. Come on Eegulz!

Think the club have a 25 seater booked, and only afew seats left. Wish i could come, but will still be cheering the Eagles on from Home. Good Luck

I've just got back and am absolutely knackered so will do a proper write up tomorrow, but rest safe in the knowledge that was one of my favourite away games ever. What a win.

You just got back? Bloody hell that was quick! I've just got back. I'll also do a full write up later, but I'm so proud of all of them. A truly heroic effort!

Well it was never going to be an easy game given the standard of opposition and the conditions, but I think we marginally deserved it, both teams dropped too much ball but I think we were more clinical with our chances, our scrambling defence was nothing short of awesome, and defending on our own line was also very good. Man of the match for me was Alex Rowe, several barnstorming runs and the try to draw level at 14 apiece. Barrow did a very good job on Menzie, can't remember him breaking the line once, however he made up for it with 4 or 5 HUGE hits, he usually does one a game but last night I think the frustration of not busting tackles got to him! Still think we're missing Misi, Tangi had a bit of a ter at full back a couple of passes wanged at Tim Bergin's feet and Joe Hirst dropped quite a bit of ball in the centres. All the forwards had good games and half backs were excellent as usual, especially our kicking game.

I actually think Halifax will be the easiest game out of Leigh, Barrow and Halifax, especially with their injury problems and the fact Sam Barlow can't play against us, hope the players haven't got this mindset though! Roll on Thursday.
