| On official site it has down as saturday 25th,Saturday is the 26th March,Also a bit of a clash,England football team away against Wales with a 3:00pm kick-off same time as us,I would be tempted to get the kick-off changed if they could to 1:00pm and have the England game on the big screen or somthing after,Cant see much of a crowd for this one.

| Toulouse always play on Saturdays in the UK, fits in best with their travel. Just unfortunate it clashes with Baa's v England.
Agree about the crowd, i know two regulars that will be missing. One will be at said international match, other is going to Dagenham & Redbridge v Wednesday.

Perhaps we should change to avoid clashing with an away game in division 3 of another sport.

He's not suggesting that though, is he? Just saying someone will be going there rather than to the Eagles game. Kick off time should definitely be moved though as lots of people will want to watch the England game, if you consider it's not only a home nations game but a Euro qualifier, it's a pretty big game. Wednesday are kicking off at 1pm in Dagenham to allow people to watch both games. Bit of a pain in the butt for people who'd already booked their train tickets mind!

But irrelevant to the choice of kick off time.
If we assume that Toulouse are arriving on Friday and leaving Sunday, then the kick off time on Saturday is flexible, assuming United agree the change. A 6pm kick off would mean using the floodlights, if that makes any difference.
After the debacle in South Africa, that was me done with the England football team. I don't give a toss what happens in the game, although I hate losing enything to Wales.

| It's not just "something else" though is it Griff? As I explained in my previous post it's a pretty big game and anyone who takes an interest in football will probably want to watch it, I understand you probably don't and that's fair enough.
As for "being done" with England, I'll never give up on my country, no matter how bad we get! I'm proud to be English and will support my country in one of my favourite sports whether we're beating the Brazilians or fighting for a draw against Montenegro. They're crap but they're my crap. Bit like Wednesday, and Eagles sometimes!!

Not because we're playing Wales on the basis of their footballing ability, it's the context of the game. As far as internationals go, it's a local Derby. If Wednesday played Rotherham I wouldn't see it as a bigger game than us playing Gillingham for example, but there would be a much bigger crowd for obvious reasons, the local aspect. Add that to the fact it's a qualifier for a major tournament, a qualifying campaign we're so far unbeaten in and one in which Wales desparately need a win...it's a big game, and people will want to watch it. Let's hope this isn't refelcted in the attendance too much.

| what's the capacity of Hillsborough nowadays ? in the good old days when I used to go up to follow the mighty Spurs or Canaries it was quite substantial, holding it's fair share of Cup semi finals etc along with Villa Park etc
Holding the FA cup semis at Wembley is a joke IMO

Easy - Wembley cost 495 billion pounds to build so they have to play them there. Plus where else could you hold City v United and get all the fans who want to see the game into the stadium?
Stoke v Bolton could be held at Old Trafford if it wasn't for the money issue. The fans will still cough up I suspect. At some point the cost of tickets and travel will break even the most dedicated fan's bank balance and they'll stop going. But for now, football will keep milking the willing cow.
If only rugby league had this problem. We have problems getting anybody to turn up to any Challenge Cup game, except the final.

If we keep trying to avoid other events, we'll end up kicking off at 12 pm on a Thursday night.

| Hillsborough holds 39,000, though hasn't been anywhere near full this season, we had 37,000 in for the last game of last season, the police and the "safety advisory group" wouldn't allow us to use the North West Corner (segregation issues).
FA Cup semi finals being played at Wembley stems back to '93 when we ANNIHLATED Sheff Utd at Wembley (2-1, after extra time ). The FA had said Arsenal vs Spurs (I think?) would be played at Wembley but we'd have to play our semi final at E**and Ro*d, as you can imagine the Sheffield folk kicked up a fuss and it got moved, and I think they have pretty much been at Wembley ever since, obviously not when the old one was being knocked down and the new one built.
As for it being the only ground to get all of City/Man Ure fans in, maybe if the FA gave them a fair proportion of tickets!! They've been allocated around 34,000 seats each which means almost a third of Wembley's capacity will be taken up by the corporate prawn sandwich brigade, which I think is a joke, punishing the proper fans (I'm informed Man U do have some!) certainly in City's case.

| It was actually 16,014 which is a miracle in itself considering the dross that's been on show this season. The 37k was a one off as everyone knows due to the relegation shootout between us and Pal, your boys will be lucky to even have one of those this season!!

Are we to infer from this that you wanted the kick-off time changing because you couldn't come at 3 pm ?
