The Eagles u20's lost to Leigh in their Grand Final tonight, 32-28. A last minute try snatching the win away. A massive well done to all the lads on what they've achieved, bright futures ahead for all of them.

Quite annoyed I missed this game.
The scheduling doesn't seem right.
A final played at a non-neutral stadium.
I was under the impression Leigh played a number of first team squad players in the Under 20's,but this doesn't seem to have been the case last night.
Played on the same night the biggest marketed club game is played a few miles away at Wigan.
Quite unfair on the Sheffield club and those associated with the club and the players.

Augurs well for the future at Sheffield rugby league and reflects very well on the loyalty and focus of certain individuals since the 1980's.

I would have gone if I could have sorted something, the u20's play some good stuff. Leigh beat us at Bawtry Road thanks to a big help from Jamie Acton. We've got a good crop of players and it'd be nice to keep most of them. Always been the clubs intention, since the rebirth, to build from within and create a stable academy setup. It's paying dividends.
