We have got to give this up as a bad job, Batley have shown the way to go. How can you engender team spirit when players barely even train with each other, we should stick with Wood, Crookes and Finnigan with a view to them eventually signing on full contracts, to show loyalty, but no more after that. It is important to have a quality half-back, so only in this position we'll have to splash the cash - Joe Mellor will do nicely!

I'm not sure of all the rules but when does a SL player become ineligible to be on a dual registration? I assume age and SL appearances play a part? Does this affect the salary cap of Championship clubs too?

You have to (reluctantly) applaud Batley on how the have got where they are and how they have done it.

I’m expecting some of the current players to leave at the end of the season so maybe we need to get others in. Could we afford any of the dual registration players we have had? Could there be better value for money players free during the close season?

Scrap dual reg with a view to replacing it with loan type system.

The players has to be under 23 at the start of the season (I think). The loan system still exists for players older than that though.

This should be the only we go next season.

Can't be in the top 20 earners at the club either which is what stopped us getting Penny back last season.

Idea of system was to get better quality players but in reality doesn't quite work out as you'd probably get the same lads on month to month loans anyway.
