I forsee a future not too far away where SL is populated by plastic teams with the 'right' postcode and as more and more traditional clubs are sacrificed in the name of the great god expansionism the Championship will be a far better competion than the manufactured SL.

And lets hope that Keighley get to the championship!

On a serious note the OP is typical of the average person in Warrington, a no brain chav who's IQ only extends as far the numbers of the Lottery; who really ought to keep their trap shut on things that dont really concern them. It's not like it hasn't been discussed 5000 times.

the only reason i look in on this board from time to time is to be on the look out for the latest "CC shouldn't be in SL" thread. They make for funny reading.

I could sit here and recount the reasons why CC got their spot. But the level of ignorance of the people who post the "you shouldnt be in SL" threads on here is such that those facts would have about as much chance of denting that wall of stupidity as a custard pie would have at knocking down the great wall of china

Whether it was right or not is down to your opinion on the politics of the game and the direction the RFL is taking us! Not a new argument is it??

Is it one worth keeping up?? If so, who with?? Are the celtic fans at fault?? Who is your anger with - if indeed you are angry??? And if so, you do you propose to address it with?? Have you tried anything, successful or otherwise???

I ask, because I'm one who is mightily hacked off with how the game is being run at the mo, but I don't necessarily want to see the crusaders to be excluded from the event!!!! I will scrutinise their performance and more importantly the RFL to see if their experiment was/is worth it.

But, and it's a big [size=200BUT[/size, I can't see any mileage in continually baiting individuals on here. Individuals that are rugby fans - regardless of where they enjoy there rugby, a beer and good craic in a place where league previously hasn't been allowed a look in.

If you really want to know why Celtic got into SL before Fax, Leigh or Widnes apart from Location, it would have been that their Kids are rather good at RL..........they have a youth structure, they promised a stadium (al a widnes, fax, Wakey, Salford, St Helens and Salford) and they are potentially a hotbed for RL....unlike Leigh who got 5 points in their 1 year in SL, Fax, who were relegated with 0 points and the worse season crowd average in the last 10 years and widnes who broke RFL rules on financial matters......

The RFL want to expand the game - no bad idea. Just wished they'd be straight about it and give all clubs a fair crack at the cherry.

so their youth set up isn't good? They didn't promise a state of the art sports stadium and they didn't (playing by the rules as the rfl laid them down) kick cr@p out of most of last years C1 teams? No their fault the UKBA decided to mess with the rules (and I still believe someone from the regions rejected MAY well have tipped off the UKBA anyway...)
Also, as someone wisely pointed out on another thread, if the "heartland" clubs had paid more attention to their own houses over the preceeding 100+ years, you wouldn't have this problem. No point crying over spilt milk when it was spilt 50+ years ago!

Well I think only the RFL can say definitively why they gave us and Salford the Licence. we are both in areas not predominantly RL hotbeds, yes but we also have a sizeable support network and structure on which the club is supported and will be based in time, our current crop of kids have won national honours TWICE IN TWO YEARS, this will also have been a deciding factor.

I don't feel the need to fling dirt at other clubs, we know we have shortcomings and we will sort them out. So have the clubs in the Championships.

On the pitch neither Widnes or Featherstone are going great guns this season , I think Barrow deserve a chance at SL but then again another Cumbrian side Workington Town were in the first SL and it ruined the club.
It would be as much a risk to give a licence to Featherstone or Widnes as it was to give the Celtic Crusaders a licence. The RFL needs to sort itself out as much as we do
