I'm doing an 800 mile round trip this weekend.

I am cheating by flying mind.

You thought of flying from Exeter to some away games chubbs? Would probably be a lot quicker if you could stretch to it.

at the end of the day its probably not much shorter in time. looking at 35-40 mins clear run to exeter. then you gotta be in early to check in pay to park the car etc. by the time you sit around for ages before getting on the plane then flying up. etc. your looking at over 4 hours and its just over 5 to drive to bradford. i must admit i was looking for airsoutwest flights from plymouth to cardiff that would be season fare for me

if i lived in exeter i'd give it a shot but plm its not really worth it. i can fly from plym to leeds bradford but the times mean i'd have to stay overnight to get back.

The away trips don't seem as long as they look on paper when you're on them if that makes sense.

Bradford have to do a kid for a quid as there is not going to be anyone there. With the cru away support they have to try something just as we do at home. Whereas we get a lot of away support, they are not going to get many on the day.
After the hopeless display against Huddersfield, I can see less and less coming to away games and even more so at home games. Something has to be done by the coach before it gets to the stage where we become the laughing stock of SL. JVD is useless at the kicking game and with Tyrer gone back then we have a squad place to bring in someone new. LETS GET A BIG NAME PLAYER NOW.
Having moved back to the Bradford area I may even get to see you play at Odsal

TBH I think the best thing both CC and Salford can do is use this season as a learning experience for their players. Much as Castleford did last year. There's a big step up between NL1 and SL and it'll take players awhile to adjust their game. You can't expect miracles over night.

Anyone who hasn't been to Odsal before, the stadium is a huge open bowl with a covered stand along one side. I hope I'm not putting anyone off making the trip, but heavy rain is forecast, so be prepared.

plenty of food and drink outlets around the ground and the entertainment, altough not what it used to be is still pretty good (<old git mode a bit loud for my liking tho' old git mode>icon_wink.gif
