One difference (of many) is that Catalans are based in a "heartland" of RL!! They are a club based on a merger of successful clubs in strong RL territory and as such have a captive audience.
The crusaders are trying to develop a team in strong RU territory - ambivalent to RL at best, but historically hostile towards league.
I am led to believe the playing staff will improve no end next term - and so you would expect the results to improve likewise. Then will be the tester to see if the people of South Wales really want a RL team as poor results will no longer be an excuse! Whilst based in Bridgend there is evidence to suggest that insufficent paying numbers did!
Newport awaits then!
