No. The question is what does Walters have to acheive this year to be acceptable taking over from Potter. The much lower table finish with a better squad requires a good run in the Cup (fail) or a GF appearance.

If we had finished 6th and made the semis I would have been happy. If we had had a good run in the cup I would have been happy. The bottom line is that we have plummeted in the table, done poorly in the cup and won two playoff games. It's not as good as we did in the last two years is it?

Didn't you get to the last four last year? Walters has done the same this year in his first season. Fair play to the bloke in my opinion.

To me, showing the consistency to finish 3rd is much more than a decent playoff finish.

I'd rather do well in the playoffs, ideally getting to the final or winning the thing than consistently finish third. Each to their own though.

Like I said, making the final would be better, but we won't beat Leeds, so we won't make the final and we will look back at this season as 8th place finish + 2 wins.

Well I think they have their chances. I think the game will be closer than many expect.

but the consistency has been harder to come by and there are a million reasons why. I feel you arent giving other clubs like KR, like Hudds or Wakey the credit for their improvments either.

To look at the stats we have only won three less games than last year, our for and against is pretty similar too

Its been stay all season for me, Im happy he has managed to take the team to something we couldnt have imagined in the middle of the year.

Stay under review. The team has improved over the year - without the dross Walters brought with him. We do have to ask why he couldn't get them to play this well for most of the year. If they can start the year as well as they finished then Walters is a genius. If he signs another Perry and puts Bell back in to return us to our early season mediocrity, then he has to go.

Whereas Bell is a centre? Third choice behind Raguin and Baile.

Duport is not a natural winger but I have yet to see Bell put in the effort to justify his wage. I'd rather we look for an up and coming French player to replace him.

Yes, we need a couple players coming in to kick on for next year, whether we sign them in or promote from the academy. We need a SO and a Wing for sure and a Centre would give us some competition in the squad. Worth looking at the France squad for the 4N to shop for a Wing.

Was speaking to M. Potter last night who mentioned that we need a centre and a winger to go with Bell and Pelo. What he did say was he is not sure where he would play JPB "centre or 2nd row, but he's gotta play!"

Ricky, i think Bell should be given the opportunity next year to show us what he can really do, but i still think we need a top quality 3/4

I think Mogg fills in the role of 3/4 and centre very well, ideally I would have him as a centre with another playmaker at 3/4 for more options in attack. Would promote compettition in the squad.

French backs? Stacul, Vaccari and Villegas spring to mind to fill in at Wing, not the completed article but looking to the future.

As to the cap, either we're keeping Bell (I get the impression this is unlikely) at which point we have our 3/4 and need a wing, OR he's going which frees up cap money.

We have Crocker and Perry freeing up wages as well, so should be able to afford a decent signing.

I was going to say I dont know the restraints of the club cap-wise.

As for French backs there are younger guys knocking around and we have JPB but the step up from France to Super League as you well know is vast so unless there is someone you know who we dont, i dont really see too much on the horizon from the LER
