It may well be a one year deal because the Roosters are very keen on Bellamy in 2014.

It might be worth while for Catalans to give him a year off and put in a caretaker coach for a year. He would come back a better coach with a year of NRL head coach experience.

Just heard on radio (Aust Broadcasting Commision) that Robinson has signed for 3 years at the Roosters.

One good result from that is that it is well known the Roosters buy in juniors every year, and i could see Robbo giving some French juniors a run.

Just joking - I know James tried to get a junior coaching position at Newcastle this year before taking a country team on, and i'm sure he has coaching aspirations, but he is 5 years away from being ready.

Very sad news but the key point has already been made. Next appointment is key.

I've never been a huge fan of Robbo as a coach.
I think he has shown great skill in signing players, but a lot of coaches will do better with the squad he has put together.

Get Rick Stone from Newcastle to join his mates Zeb and Scotty - he is a much better coach than Robbo.

I suppose we need to hope there isnt a player exodus to follow the coach too.

It's testament to the job he's done in Perpignan that he was even considered for an NRL role and as a club and as supporters we'll always thank him for that. We were a sorry mess when he arrived and now see where we are.

Now we move on. James Wynne might have been a good shout had he been in NSW Cup or an assistant's role in the NRL, but I don't see coaching country rugby being a good launch pad. It's bound to be an attractive position to a lot of people, but I'll chuck one name in - Jez Guisset. If he feels he's ready, of course.

I wonder if they might go for John Kear who speaks French, and has coached in France before?

Andrew Dunneman is a coach going places.

His first year as coach he got the Cowboys feeder club in the qld cup to a grandfinal and got Ray Thompson into firstgrade.

Next two years at the Knights as halves coach he taught Scot Dureau, Jarrod Mullen, Ryan Stig and Tyrone Roberts enough that they all improved to firstgrade level in the 7.

This year he has got Canberra NYC into the finals and his number 7 is NYC halfback of the year.

His record with halves is amazing.
