bamber bridge 30-6 caddishead not for the faint hearted this game caddishead with an infulx of irlam players came to our place and iv played in some tough games but this was just stupid they where throwing punches headbutts 1 player ran in and kicked 1 of our players in a tackle but we stood up to that and just laughe at them in the end never heard a team moan about every tackle like they did we missed most of our kicks bombed so many chances they went down to 12 after 20 min and we got draggeed down to there level but 2nd half we re grouped and should of won by a lot more

Its been a while....

Boars beat Hilton Park 18-16 was always going to be tough with a few lads missing, it was a very scrappy game which wasnt helped by the ref, played Hilton Park twice now in a friendly and on Saturday and their discipline dosent half let them down, both games we have won thats been the difference for us. Sure they will still be up there at the end of the season but if they carry on with the unnecessary penalties they will lose a lot of games for that reason only as they play some good rugby and are a massive outfit, certainly will be one of the most difficult places to visit.

As for us we have had a slow start to the season and hoping to pick up momentum, even though we lost the highlight of the season will have to be the portico derby, great day for the amatuer game around our end with great tough game of rugby with the crowd being easily over 700.

hilton park v bamber bridge OFF rung us on a friday saying they had club big issues then told league we had agreed to move the game as they had players working or injured when we hadnt agreed to move the game so think its going be a 24 nil,they emailed on tues asking if we where good for game as well

also seen the league are playing fixtures on challenge cup weekend what is that about we can never get a game of even when we put a request in like we have with hindpool and they wnt agree to change it

Why should Hindpool move the fixture. We asked you the same thing last season and you refused so what did you expect?
We always accommodate other teams when we can like this season when we reversed the fixture with Portico and travelled to them when we didn't have to and meant we had 2 lads missing because they agreed to work.

its not tit for tat here you got the fixture moved last year,last year we had to re arrange so many fixtures for teams travelled to widnes only to be told when we got there they hadnt got a team,we played dishlington in the cup we didnt have to we could of gone through to the next round as they had messed up and they asked for a free we but once again we agreed to play it,we could ask the league to get involved but whats the point,it sounds like your dnt want to re arrange cus of last year

That's not true we already have 1 game to rearrange and our free weeks are spoken for with stag dos etc. You fail to memtion that we have offered to play on a week night to help you out. Not ideal for you i agree but what else do you expect us to do?
We ourselves had asked the league before the season started to rearrange a game later this season and didn't even get a reply so we will have to fulfil that fixture.

also been speaking with hilton park on twitter wires have been crossed they had some internal issues and all sorted now and there back on the field next week hope there new venture gets back on track good luck

We offered to look into playing on the Friday but obviously we would need to check on how that suits the players. We would have to make sure they have nothing else on.

Hilton Park have withdrawn from the league

Any idea of the reason behind why they have withdrew? i know numbers are not everything but they seemed to have a decent size squad both times we played them, had an ok set up and some decent players, bet thier fines bill was a hefty one though!

Strange game for us against Hindpool last weekend, picked up the win which is always nice but the game lacked intensity, both teams wanted to throw the ball about which provided some good rugby from both sides, but on the other hand both sides would feel they could play a lot better as it was really scrappy game with too many mistakes.

Weren't Hilton Park formed from the double relegation and fall-outs at Leigh East? A lot of their squad were ex-Easts. Wonder if some of that has resurfaced. Shame, always good to see new amateur clubs.

Shame they couldnt keep going, i did have a little chuckle over the link above regarding the prop with the ban over his head, sure he came back from a ban for our game, then in that game he got sin binned, came back on then lasted 10 mins then got sent off! shame for them was he was a decent player when on the field.......

I'm not surprised with the feedback you got! both teams were not great just a decent 20 mins from ourselves seen us through, but as i said a wins a win. We have Culcheth away this Saturday, never played them before always nice to play a new team.

Decent enough side. Nothing spectacular but carry out the basics very well, tightly drilled. They'll also get in your faces and try and bully things, and like to throw high shots, elbows, knees etc, but I'm sure you fellas will handle that. Just make sure you don't react, in our first 2 games against them we had 4 sent off and 4 sin-bins, and we're far from being a dirty side.

Cheers Cronus, looking forward to it should be nice weather wise which is always a bonus! only downside to summer rugby is the bloody cuts on kness and elbows that lasts for weeks on end!!! How are you lads getting on? i know when we was in same league you was a bit unlucky with numbers.

Accrington are ok, when we went to thier place the pitch was very narrow and it suited thier game. They had a big prop who could shift when he got going and even put the odd kick in which a surprise to us!! and a decent scrum half which everything went through, i would expect bamber bridge to win this one..

Yeah we struggled badly for a season or two, half the squad ended up having to take jobs with 1-on 1-off Saturday shifts and we lost a few others for various reasons. One week we'd have 20 lads, the next barely 10. I remember the season we ended up not playing you boys at all...

Since the full summer switch we've recruited well and are running 2 teams this year. Work is still a big issue, and in summer weddings, holidays and things like music festivals but we've got big numbers even if many are novices and RU converts. All in all, going well.

bamber bridge 50 -12 accrington a solid performance by us to much dropped ball from and for long spells we had to defend our line accrington kept coming all day and had a few players missing but all in all a good win for us

woolston 20- bamber bridge 44 a really good 1st half 30 -8 up at half time then 2nd half just got lazy and took our foot of the gas not happy, another tough away at hindpool this week tried to get fixtured moved 6 weeks ago but couldnt no idea what tema is going be had 10 players out yesterday and picked more injuries up yesterday fair to play to woolston who kept going all day

Another good result for Culcheth against a determined Cadishead side, going into half time with a 28 point lead Culcheth lost some focus in the second half which became a bit scrappy.

hindpool 28-8 bamber bridge 8 awful performance from us shocking to my dropped balls esp in 2nd half gave them 3 quick trys in 1st half , no excuses that we had 8 players missing or coach was late the better team won on the day simple as that well played hindpool,also i liked to say sorry for the idiot who came with and coming on pitch at half time he embrassed our club and will not be coming again all best for rest of the season lads

Gutted on our 1st defeat of the season but not taking anything away from HINDPOOL. The referee we had, had never reffed before and this was he's 1st game. He was a joke and should never do he's job again. He shouldn't of been in charge of a game which was way out of he's league it's a disgrace!! Onwards and upwards tho we had to get beat at some point well played lads
