Game of two halves ours. Went 16-0 up at half-time and in control, score went to 20-6 early in the second half but Higginshaw had a real dig from that point on and were on top for the rest of the game but we held them out, great effort with 3 injuries during the game and a sin-bin that lasted over 15 minutes!



Heard after the game that a couple of their forwards are signing for a professional club this week? Fair play if true.

I didn't hear it myself it's just what some of the lads have told me they heard in the club after the game. That Caddy who plays prop for them is a top player, think he has been MOM against us in both games and it wouldn't surprise me to see him play at a higher level.

yeah maybe at a higher level in our leagues but no higher than that imo.

New Springs 18-0 Cadishead

Walk over game, they called last night saying they weren't making the trip. They dusted us at their place and have been going well so a very strange one, disappointing aswell as we owed them one!

So a few of our lads went to the Eccles v Irlam game, apparently the result was Eccles 36-28 Irlam which is massive for us if true.

Gave us a decent game but the win was never in doubt really. Credit to Leyland for having 4 under 17s players as well, they all held there own. We just had too much for them all over the park really.

We were f****** awful today, only got going when the game was beyond us. Out-enthused from the start, terrible. Got it all to do now to win the league, should still be in our hands if we win all three because we've got Irlam to come but it depends on how well they've done today and how the points difference looks.

Well played Pilks, well-drilled set of lads there and they fully deserved it today, far better team on the day.

Very pleased with todays performance. We knew if our pack got on top of yours that we could do some damage. I thought our backs were really sharp as well. We look forward to playin New Springs, its one of our favorite fixtures which always serves up a good game.

I think Dave will be flogging u at training now tho.

Your forwards were definitely better, especially in the second half. We had most of the territory in the first half, against the slope and with 12 men at one point, just poor execution cost us a lot of points and we conceded a couple of soft tries - great finish for the second try but defence was poor there (me

). No complaints about the second half though, just not good enough all over the park.

We're not too down about it, we've always had to beat Irlam but we have to win every game now (home to Bamber Bridge and Irlam, away at Leigh) to win the league.

How will we separate the teams should they finish on joint points then? Head to head record?

Head to head record is used to decide title/promotion/relegation issuses.

We've got Bamber Bridge at home next Tuesday (20th) then I'm assuming it's Irlam (H) on the 24th followed by Leigh Central (A) the following Saturday.
