Popped down to the lions tonight to watch an under 12's cup game and when i got into the carpark it was choca block, anyhow eventually parked and just looked around at the scene there were different age groups training on different pitches and some tiny ones I think were under eights..
The place was buzzing and the clubhouse was open and there was a great feel about the place, just ordinary folks coming together in a common cause...
At the end of the game we did the usual food in the clubhouse and the two coaches gave out the kids awards etc and you know what I thought they can stick SL where the sun don't shine because this is what its about..the grass roots..
Oh and whilst im bigging up the Lions,I think its worth mentioning the new under 12's coach who said a few words after the game...I wont name him because that wouldnt be fair...but one word somes the guy up...INSPIRATIONAL
Well done Fev Lions and all the people that keep the place going you are all stars
