From the first announcement, I thought it was complete nonsense that News suggested they "knew nothing" considering they fill in the Storms financial blanks year on year. But, as per usual, shıt won't stick.

It's all done and dusted now......Storm will cut their wage bill accordingly and be under the cap next year. Murdoch will continue to try to bully his way to what he wants (let's face it...he's built an empire on that 1 ethos). It will be interesting to see if the IC stand up to him....and if they do, what the outcome will be.
Like him or Loathe him.....he has made a fair few bob and he has been good for the game of RL.......look at the money in the sport no compared to 20 years ago......

Never said he was good for the game......just pointed out the game is a lot wealthier (players) than 20 years ago.
In the UK.......before SL, the game was on it's butt. In Australia (AFAIK), the game was in slightly better condition, but the SL war did shake the tree and removed an awful lot of rotten fruit so to speak.
As I say, the IC if they take over will have fun fun fun when dealing with anything Murdoch has a hand in.....

So....RL is worse off now in Australia than it was before the SL war is it? Don't see how. 1 billion dollars was one of the guestimates being bandied around here with regard to the next TV deal......bet ARL could only dream of such sums before Murdoch.
Players get paid far more percentage wise now than they did pre SL war........fans get wall to wal coverage of games on TV, Clubs (most of them) are nearing self sufficiency and Union and the AFL see League as a major threat (in australia)....so yep, Murdoch getting involced was good for the game in the long run......and if thr IC do take over, the game will only get stronger. IMO that is...
