At the end of the day Cabbie , Rovers biggest single problem is the location of the ground...and it always will be .
If we were still on Holderness Road the magic 10,000 figure would easily be eclipsed now , the ground, bars, catering etc could/would be used on a regular basis and it would just be a much more easy and attractive place to go.
And wether you like it or not this is very much down to Mr Hutton.

I must have imagined the regular 10,000 plus crowds i stood in , even against the likes of Barrow, Wakefield and Salford, 16,000 against Hull.
Given the growth in general top level crowds since the advent of SL i think it is a fait accompli that we would have at least averaged 10,000 , quite easily more.
The mistake of moving to Greatfield will continue to haunt Rovers for many a day.

Or maybe the richard head of a councillor who got people from miles away to sign a petition to stop us building a ground on the corner of Leads Road/Sutton Road where the Greencore factory now is could share a portion
Until we can get a road built from Hedon Road and 4 bloody stands it will always be in the wrong position!!! Maybe a roof would do as well

I have a programme somewhere from the 80's that shows several 10k + crowds and lots of 8k & 9k's

| Hull KR's crowd averages:
1977-78 5352
1978-79 5945*
1979-80 6953
1980-81 8904
1981-82 8723
1982-83 7379
1083-84 6966*
1984-85 6715*
1985-86 4855
*Champions
There were a number of big derby attendances at CP around this time of course, such as 16,084 in April 1984, 14,481 in October of the same year, 15,574 in March 1982, 13,610 in the September. Boulevard derbies were getting 18-20,000.
Sadly by the end of the 80s neither club could pull in five figures for the derbies

| Just as i remember 80-81 was indeed our biggest attended season. Squeezing through the Aberdeen st entrance. Even then 9,000 could not be surpassed despite beating Hull at wembley. We peaked at the 81 final against widnes then andy gregory put paid to that.

| I'll give it a month, once this season has been dusted off before the big HDM exclusive in which Hudgell reveals his renewed passion and commitment to the cause ahead of the new season pass launch.
Or Allam's buying you.

| ive had it on very good info the allems are taking over at HKR ,im sure at 1st this will be seen as great, a rich suger daddy never did anyone any harm ,but a man like him is only in it for somthing they do not just throw money at somthing and lose loads if there is no end goal, he can only be after the land and development so a big battle with the coucil will be looming at some point, if he does not get his way he could drop you like a stone using your club like a pawn in a bigger game, very interesting to read he loaned you 1 million so he probs owns you already but at the time he gifted you the money, money men like him never give you anything thats why they have money and keep it, if a life long supporter like Hudge gets fed up with pumping money in how long will it take Allam, with no gain in it
I thought the radio interview a few weeks ago with hudge was the start, he more or less conceeded HKR are a club who gets 7000 core fans will never grow the club much more that this and need to cut its cloth to match its turnover he sounded a defeated man then tbh somone who had relised his long term ambitions for the club where not shared by the majority of peaple in east hull or their wallets

| You know how you lot don't really value our opinions of your club, well... oh, never mind.
We'll see, I guess. Simplest answer if the most likely IMO - we're cutting spending on the squad. We might have to sell a player we'd prefer not. C'est la vie - we're not the only ones giving out distress signals, and 3 SL clubs have collapsed and failed utterly in 2 years.
If it were new owners, I'd judge them on what they did. I very much doubt it, but I'm often wrong.

Didn't mean that. Having been arm-wrestled into dreaming up a £6m training centre in a location that benefits Rovers only, and getting external funding to do so, turns out Hudgell might be bailing out before the thing's even built. The lucky Hull taxpayer gets to underwrite Rovers contribution too. Well done.

Only teasing - it was about 7 or 8 FC posts in a row. Cab man is debatable, I admit.
I'd be a bit wary of any new owners - but tbf, I'm already concerned, have been for years, not that it helps any.
New money certainly wouldn't go amiss.
Rovers need to go in a new direction, that much is obvious, whether that means new directors and ownership - who knows? We certainly wouldn't need preparing for the worst with this sort of news story though. While he mightn't get Pearson levels of adulation, we're generally more ambivalent about Allam - it's you lot that deeply dislike him.

Well said I think the fc fans think pearson has an endless pit and are guaranteed 15,000 a game even if rovers didn't exist I dont think the gates at fc would improve a great deal, pearson is doing now Wat we've been doing the last few seasons, nothing is guaranteed in rugby all it takes is a few injuries to a few key players and all of a sudden that's it.
