The system has been in place at the KC Stadium since it was built and was used for the first couple of seasons. Last season it finally got off the ground again thanks to our Media Manager and a number of our disabled group members got the benefit of using it for the majority of last season.

Absolutely correct Clubfoot, his user name is HullLad. Hull have been using the "Loop" equipment from as far back as 2003 during our first season when the Stadium opened. The audio commentary was trialled again all of last season for visually impared supporters. IIRC Hull now have their own equipment to do this (they used to loan it from Hull City).

Someone has been misinformed I would say rather than telling porkies, in this case it was someone who I spoke only this afternoon at Hull FC so to say she was telling porkies is a little harsh!!!, people should really gets facts right though. I rang to check the facts for someone and was told the same old story, its just for the Football not the Rugby.
Rather than promote the petty bickering between two sides of one city I can be contacted by PM on this matter or by email, the Rovers system should be congratulated as the funds were raised by the DSG for the AC system it should not turn into another FC v Rovers slagging match.

I've sent you a pm Gill No petty bickering on my part, just wanted to point out Hull FC have been using this system for over 7 years but the article makes out no other rugby league club have ever done this before which is just not true. I've never slated Lee or Hull KR, in fact I've done nothing but praise him and the Rovers DSG for all their efforts.

Well Steph, apparently you seem to be the only person who knows about the audio kit and it's match day operation - neither the KC (Hull FC) ticket office & the stadium ticket office staff, nor the RFL know anything about it ([iNeither did you, if I remember correctly, when it was mentioned at the Hull Disabled Supporters Group meeting last November[/i)
Perhaps this link from the RFL website will clarify the issue [urlhttp://www.therfl.co.uk/clientdocs/Disabled%20Spectator%20information%202009%20(Clubs%20H%20-%20R).doc[/url From which I quote...."Hull FC, playing home games at the KC Stadium, [uNumber of audio loop seats [/u- [uStadium does have an audio loop. Although not in use on Rugby League match days[/u. " When the Hull FC Disabled Group was formed in 2006/7 Gill & Richard Johnson demonstrated a system that could be used, however there wasn't a demand for it so it was shelved.
I'm curious, to your earlier post where you claim ".......[iit was used most of last season[/i" as I've been approached very recently (twice) by Hull to assist with seeking funding sources to pay for the equipment. If you think a supporter who's listening to a mobile phone radio commentary can compare that to a dedicated audio commentary by 'visually aware commentators' is the same, well you're very much mistaken.
Still, I should have expected the negative anti-Rovers comments from the usual suspects - it's a pity certain people can't see the bigger picture, not just the one team they support - just for starters, in Britain alone, there are 14 teams in the Super League, and 22 in the Championship, that's without all the amateur teams! Were would they be without the support of ALL Rugby League supporters?

I don't want to get into a slanging match on a public forum about which team got there first. I didn't say anything when this original thread started because I'm not into tit for tat. It was only your comment "HOW LONG HAS HULL FC been using it" that I felt I had to say something.
I can assure you the Audio COmmentary was used all of last season, courtesty of our Media Manager James Clarke and not as you suggest radio commentary. He approached me at the October FC Voices meeting and said he had been trialling it and would I please spread the word at our disabled meetings and otherwise for people to take advantage. IF YOU REMEMBER I RAISED IT AT THE NOVEMBER MEETING YOU ATTENDED WITH GILL JOHNSON, so to say I didn't know about it is rather absurd. At that meeting two ladies (you can have their names if you wish to PM me) said they have been trialling it all season, it was something different to what they have listened to before and they are very pleased with the new AUDIO COMMENTARY. I then asked if people were interested to come and see me, which I had one lady who was interested who came to me at the end of the meeting.
I have no dealings with the RFL as such because I seem not to be "in the clique" if you like and do not get invited to such events.
I think its fantastic that you have a hands on role at HKR, like I've mentioned to you before the KC Stadium is a state of the art new stadium and it manages itself when it comes to disablilty arrangements, we have no need for me to stand outside and show people to disabled parking areas, stewards are employed for that and for me to make sure disabled toilets are clean and tidy for disabled supporters, they employ cleaners for that. Congratulations on all the work you've managed to achieve, I truly mean that, but I have a different role to you as RLDSA representative.
I don't come onto your board and post negative Rovers comments, thats not my style, but I did feel the article gave the wrong impression that Rovers are the very first rugby league club to ever do this sort of thing and that is simply not true.
If you'd like to contact James Clarke at Hull FC he can tell you all the details.

Stick with what you are comfortable with Vince, Hull FC's accounts, even though you are usually wrong.
Remember the last time we spoke at the KC?
Give up and stop being so disrespectful.
Des's memory is worth more than your cheap attempts at point scoring.

So why bother commenting then?
And by the way, we met many times before that meeting at the KC. I well remember you from Little Manny down Scale Lane, back in the old days.
I think I've still got the PMs and e-mails you sent to me over the years. IIRC one even states that you never saw me referee.
No real change is there Vince?

| I would just like to say well done to all concerned with the audio kit! I know for several fans it is a fantastic bit of equipment.
Could I just say that regardless of anything this is about trying to make rugby league a sport that everybody can enjoy regardles of if they have a disability or not. It shouldn't be about which team has it and which team doesn't, hopeful ALL teams will eventually get this equipment. Ok so FC and KR have a history of being rivals but this is not about the teams this is about what is best for the suporters and how the RLDSA and local DSG groups can improve games for fans.
I think Lee and his group should be proud of the work they put in to raise the money for the equipmant and thank you Gil for raising it and making people awear. And if it is at Kc then they should be proud of their DSG and equipment too.

Thanks Snuggs,
The RLDSA up until now has been run by a very dedicated group of volunteers who spend most of their free time and money running around helping other disabled fans and their families and supporting Rugby League in its efforts to become more inclusive It has been very successful so far and will continue to do so into the future.
There is very exciting news on the horizon for the RLDSA and its hard working band of volunteers, it's some thing we have been needed for years but we will announce that very soon. At the end of the day the Rovers DSG did something nobody else had done they went out and got the funding to buy the audio equipment themselves and deserved credit for doing so and for helping to get the system working so well.
That was the point to this thread and then a joke was taken the wrong way, as it does sometimes across the Hull ether and hey presto you have a lot of nonsense talked and a bout of bickering.
The important thing is the Audio Commentary System is now working with a number of commentators trained and working at a couple of Club's with more to follow.
The same equipment set up is going to be bought and used at FC, the Hull FC DSG will be able to do the same thing as the Rovers Group did if they want and help get some funding in to help FC meet the cost which I'll tell them at their next meeting, with advice on where to apply to.
All will be well with the World eventually.

| I hope Hull Fc do get the audio kit along with every other club.
Sometimes I wonder if people are RL fans or if they just like the bickering between the two Hull teams!?!?! If they are RL fans then surely they should be greatful that the RL and RLDSA are advancing and getting better, allowing even more people to enjoy RL????
Maybe it's just me but the way I see it is that if just one club could lead the way in a new resource/bit of equipment as an example to other clubs then I would be supporting them all the way because it means that even more people can enjoy the sport as much as I am able to. Even if they are rivals!!!
Any way that is my rant over and I don't mean to offend anybody, so if I have I appologise now.
I look forward to seeing Lee, Simon and the Audio kit on sunday=)
