a team coming from a cap of 300k/400k will have to enrol virtually a new squad just to MAYBE compete.

Surely it is up to the club to ensure these players have the correct paper work in plac, judging by the hoops that teams such as Hull, Bradford and Leeds have had to jump through to get players in (or be denied entry) then it seems the checks are being carried out by others.

I know there was the Thackaray incident last year when the RFL failed to exclude a team from a comp when fielded illegally but even then a record fine was imposed. So in this instance the club must bear some level of responsibility.

Maybe, just maybe, the RFL are waiting to see if the UKBA investigation finds any wrongdoing by the Crusaders before jumping the gun. Because unless they were complicit in their players making fraudulent visa applications they haven't actually broken any RFL regulations.
