Think leigh lost it rather than we won it,but credit to the team for sticking at it and we controlled the game pretty well in the 2nd half.Thought donaldson was terrific and looks to be improving every game.

First half for me, Leigh just had more desire. The Dixon & Armstrong tries typified that for me. No player has the right to score simple tries like that. Certainly not at this level.

At half time i said to the wife i might switch of the TV if Leigh score first i am glad i did not,s++t first half but then we proved what a difference it is in super league if we had a full team out i think we would have won very easy

Agree with most of that except you say when Leigh beat Wakefield and Salford they couldn't buy a win but Salford were actually fourth then

Couldn't believe we went for the 2 point when we got the penalty on your try line,a try & conversion would have finished you off then,imo.

TBF to Leigh they have been the stand out team in the championship for the past couple of season's. Wasn't it last year they gave the mighty Leeds a real scare in the CC. ?
Glad to have got through that with a win but really hope Leigh make the Super League with their style of attacking rugby.

I don't think you can read from this game that no championship side will make it. Hull kr were the best of sl that Leigh will have to handle.

Probably would have, but at the time it put you three scores up. I'm very rarely an advocate of taking the two, I always want to go for the throat.

The key decision was Rowley taking off Wilkes (may have been gassed, I don't know) and reintroducing Hock, he was shocking. I remember watching him in a warm up match at CP a few years ago for England against France, he was superb at times but also gave away about six penalties which negated everything good that he did. You just cannot do that in RL anymore.

I thought the 2 was the right thing to do. Any team would have taken the two. See Kevin Sinfield for more.

Your second half performance was a master class in how to retain possession and build pressure. (just as we had done in the final 20 minutes of the first half, but you trumped that by doing it for the full 40!) The constant tackling tired Leigh, (just as it had your guys by half time) who then started to concede penalties, (gifting you more possession) and make a mess of what little possession came our way. (gifting you yet more possession)

Well done to your lads, on calmly working their way out of a tricky position - and good luck at Wembley.

Chisolm had a funny old game and I still can't think what to make of him. He seems to have a good step, a bit of pace and a decent short kicking game, especially at the end where he turned the screw very well in building pressure.

He seems very unfit, blowing very heavily after short minutes, and is prone to a head explosion and gifting possession. Maybe its just that he needs minutes in the team to start to get into the pace of SL and to grips with the team. Overall he had a decent game and if he can get up to speed a short kicking (grubber) game is something we've lacked most of the year.

I was going to say give him time but time is something he and rovers do not have hopefully he will do us the job

I thought Leigh probably lacked the intensity that Rovers are used to playing at, I think they could go well in Sl, and deserve the chance to have a crack at it too.
