Well I would agree with Frankie. Lunt is one of very few players who shows energy and desire and to lose him would have been a disaster.

Fair play to Shaun Lunt. Big statement of intent from Rovers putting the money where their mouths are. Would have 100% got a super league gig so good on Lunt for sticking by the club.

Salter modelling the new training gear is a pretty good indication he will be staying IMO. Hopefully he can put his injury problems behind him and compete for a regular first team spot next year.

The club have confirmed Lunt will be here in 2017 and beyond.

As starts go, that's a good one.

Greenwood and Blair next for me. Then that would be a great start.

Not a massive fan of Salter, a bit of a turnstile in defence. He's as good as Thornley but Minns is better than both.

I bet Charlie signs on for next year. Would be OK in the Championship as a utility but not SL quality now. If possible, we need a dedicated Full Back. I'd keep Dixon as well for the wing, but Championship only.

I always thought Salter was a solid defender, while being a less than prolific try scorer.

I agree with Mild Rover, Salter's a good defender but doesn't release his winger enough. Hopefully Sheens can make him shine!!
I'd let Dixon go because he's not good enough for where we want to get to. Sio will go (unfortunately), Kelly's gone, Green has gone as has Boudebza. Campo and Horne can go with Dixon for me. There are some others that could go and be replaced but I'm not mentioning any names.
The others I would like to see us keep are Blair and Walker because they are good SL players.
What we need to do is to keep some places available to strengthen just before the qualifiers.

Maybe my memories not that good of Salter, it's not like we've seen him much this season.

We all seem to agree on Blair and Greenwood. Once they're secured then Minns, Mantellato and Walker. I'd keep Cockayne and Dixon for their enthusiasm but replace them if things go to plan and we get promoted.

We need a new set of Forwards and an experienced half back to sit alongside Marsh who we'll probably keep.

Marsh and Salter fall short of SL quality IMO. Minns showed last season the all round skill sets, attacking flair and positional instincts needed of a top quality SL centre, despite some occasional lapses due to inexperience. Salter has never delivered anything close. Not even sure he's good enough for the Championship.

Marsh steady but unspectacular at halfback but he is not creative enough. Prefer him at fullback tbh.

Allgood, Clarkson, Horne, Larroyer and Green to go plus Sio, Campese and Kelly. Not sure on Dixon.

Yeah there nothing wrong with Salters defence he just doesn't do enough in attack

Got to say I prefer Marsh at FB but would like Shaw there eventually. We have a lot of players that didn't do well last season Clarkson, Mulhern etc.. but I think they can do a job in the championship and perhaps they can 'kick on' from there as they are only young. Lets see what Mr Sheen can do with them.

If we can keep greenwood Minns Thornley Blair and I've s feeling Sio will stay Lunt already staying Id keep Dixon hopefully Mantallato and I'd resign Guzdek to play full back

All I'll day about Salter is Minns scored more tries in the 7 play off games than Salter has ALL his career.

Dixon will score buckets full in the championship. Worth one year and who knows Sheena may sort him out.

Cockayne is finished. Losing us games and blocking kids chances.

Lunt is a huge boost and should be captain. How he wasn't over Clarkson was one of many coaching catastrophes.

Mariano has been released. Poor injury record but worth a punt? Good player and should be cheap.

Weird. I was thinking about maybe having a punt on him. He'd be a step up compared to Larroyer.

A big hard running forward you need if and it's a big if you can keep him fit.

Lunt is not the player he thinks he is and is not the player he was. He had ambition to play in the NRL - instead of playing NRL he will be playing lower grade RL in a lower grade competition. He has himself to blame for that- he was on the cusp of getting a regular spot playing for his country. BUt he stopped trying to improve his game. He had a couple of nasty injuries and was never the player he had promised to be on return. He is a connoisseur of the "Lunt special" as my lad calls it, scoring from DH next to the line. He is one of the best, most accurate passers of the ball from the floor, but he got lazy with his running from dummy half- a top class hooker will run from DH! Against us earlier this year he ran just twice.
This situation he finds himself in needs to kick start his game- he's not the player he was IMO, in his early days with hudds he was being compared to Roby and talked about as No2 England hooker- now he's no where near that class - and well behind the likes of Houghton and Clark, and below Milner and the like.
If Lunt will listen to Sheens and take on board what he says, If Lunt still has ambition he could be the key for a successful season for KR. IF....
