Just a thought. Hudge can't give Sandy a longer deal than 1 year due to the fact that if they did and then decided to get rid after 5 games next season, they would have to pay out a large % of the total contract. It usually works on a sliding scale of when they get rid and how long you have left.

So by only offering a 1 year deal they cover their bank account I case they need to eject him early. Sandercock is not in a strong bargaining position with this, he knows it and worse still, so does Hudge.

Just reading through some of the drivel on here, I thought Hudge brought Sandy in to build a lasting legacy to the club by building a set up brining in local talent through the club? described by our chairman as the only way the club can advance. so to question Sandy after 2 1/2 years is silly. long term planning is ten to twenty years, I am putting into place in my job structures that will not come to fruition until I have probably popped my clogs, that is how you build a lasting legacy. I have been watching the club since 1960 & up to George Fairburn I think the club had only had five or six coaches in its entire history & would have been less except for the early death of Harry Poole. This club needs long term stability a system that remains constant (look at Wigan/Leeds) & that means allowing our coach to get on with his job & also allowing him to learn from his mistakes. If the idiots on here get their wish we will be back to square one with a new broom changing everything (again) new players & staff treading water trying to keep up with the rest. Whoever the coach is they need 10 years to bring stability.

Fifty years, give him fifty years, ten isn't long enough.

In fact, sign his kids up now as the next coach.
