Cooke was asked again by phil lowe on behalf of the rovers board 2 weeks ago to consider the offer of a 2 year contract from celtic ,cookie told them he was going nowhere ,so i guess untill rovers move somone else out clinton will be staying in aussy ,i wouldnt have thought rovers would have wanted Cooke to move unless it was for this reason they are light this year as it is ,problems problems erh |

I believe because of some players (not Cooke) rightful reticence to move on (or quit!!) that Clintons contract has had to be rejigged for the first year to enable us to satisfy the salary cap regulations, and he will be with us shortly...
Lets hope he can regain his best form quickly....

Sounds the most plausible explanation so far, given the speed of Orford's application processing. Does that mean he'll be on £200k for the 2011 season? |

How will you ever know for certain if phil lowe tried to encourage cook to go to wales? Wheteher or not clinton arrives doesn't prove whether that statement is right or wrong.
I told you all weeks ago that I'd been told by someone who should know that rovers had to make room on the cap to sign clinton. If he comes without doing that it must be a back loaded deal I would have thought.
Anyway, you should have signed shane tronc for 1/2 the money and he's a better player |
