Sheens has just said in an interview on Hull KR. TV after today's first preseason training session that the club will be aiming to sign another 4 new players from other clubs before the start of the season.

Adam quinlan the full back from saints is one of them apparently,if I remember correctly didn't he score a hat trick on his debut.Would be a cracking signing,only 23.

I don't expect Allgood to resign and Kelly's history. But what's happening with our French connection ?

The Larroyer from his first season with us, he was excellent, but the Larroyer from the last few seasons has been nothing but next to useless or injured. He will be moving on I'm sure.

Boudebza was on a really modest contact & we offered only a slight improvement. Hope he gets fixed up somewhere.

I had a quick with Josh today and as you can imagine he wasn't giving much away but he did say when I asked the inevitable question about him staying he said "if we was still in SL I would" , make of that what you will .

So to me that means 'my agent is trying to get me a super league gig, but failing that I might stay'

How does the Visa affect you if you have no first team games to your credit in Aus, no disrespect but I can not see players currently plying there trade in the NRL as regulars, coming to the Championship unless lots of cash thrown at them but I thought you could not get a visa unless you had played a certain amount of first grade games ?

We'll be spending significantly less than last year, especially at the start of pre-season, and even the first part of the season itself. Four still to come according to Sheens, before the kick-off. We're only managing a budget rather than a live cap now, so while it'd be good to get everybody on board ASAP, leaving it later leaves more pennies in the piggy bank.

I vaguely recall reading that the visa rules had been tightened, so off-quota (ie EU or Kolpak passport holders) non-Feds are probably the future from that side of the world.

Catalans have signed Brayden Williams, manly winger so maybe the Mantellato rumour to them hasn't happened, could be positive for us.

Not much recruitment to do. 4 or 5 according to TS. Why do you suggest clearing the decks at this stage after most of our signings have been made?

If you had posted this just after relegation it might have been appropriate.

I know beggars can't be choosers and I'm a big fan of josh but I'm not sure I'd want him to play for us next season if we were a last resort we have better players who committed straight away but if he did sign I'm sure he'd give it his all like he always has
