This has to be one of the most pathetic things i have ever heard about in all my years of following sport, if its true that some people have complained just because a mascott has wiggled the rear end of their costume at them, then they need to get a life, if thats all that they have to worry about in their sad lives, then i feel genuinly sorry for those individuals, get a grip for goodness sake!!!.

If the letter is addressed to Lee, does that automatically mean there can be no Rufus Robin with another person in the suit at the derby?

I have no idea, to be honest i'm beyond caring now it's all rather tedious.

People on both sides need to grow up as after a sucessful testimonial for a good servant of the game we shouldn't end up moaning and groaning about something as petty as this.

Fair enough. Just pointing out that people are rather quick to jump to conclusions here. It's very possible that some people (however sad they might be) complained to the SMC, saying they were offended by the actions of your mascot. The SMC were then obliged to look into it and based on whatever evidence was available decided to impose the ban on Lee as an individual from all SMC events (ie Hull City matches as well). It has not been stated anywhere as far as I can see that there is a ban on the mascot per se, just the guy in the suit at the testimonial.

People badging this immediately as a dummy-spit from Rule look to be off the mark.

Hmm, what if fan went to the next derby there dressed in a Rufus costumer - would they get in?!

I think they'd get stuck in the turnstile.



Let's say hypothetically though (seeing that people are dreaming up scenarios with no ground in reality) that you mascot made an obscene gesture to the crowd and someone complained to the SMC who then imposed a ban. People racing to slag off Rule on here would look pretty silly.

Think they must be annoyed at Rufus for his dreadful porkie in the first place:

Guess this is one disadvantage of the SMC picking up our matchday costs - we lose control of the policing.

Bit different to Rovers, who are in complete charge of determining how many mascots can fit in CP and also are responsible for preventing any disorder, regardless of how many stewards call in sick.

At least now you've cleared up that it's not Rufus Robin that's been banned, only the individual acting as him in the testimonial.

So, in summary, from what is available at the moment:

The SMC (not FC or Rule) have banned Lee from all KC events (City and FC)
The ban relates only to him and not to Rufus Robin the mascot.

so to get into the kc, lee will have to wear a costume. the irony is not lost on me!!
