If you want to be sentimental then thats fine. However, I remember the last time the club was sentimental and it took us nigh on 2 decades to get back into the top flight.

Loyalty and passion will only take you so far in games, So a fine balance is needed.

But the thing is that Lovegrove, to me, offers plenty. Yes there are some flaws in his game, but I thought he had a very good year and had found a role that suited him on the left. If CS, who knows a lot more about these things than me, disagrees, then surely still you'd just use him down the middle? If for no other reason than he's contracted to 2015 and it isn't easy to move a player on unless he wants to go.

Just seems a slightly odd one to me.

Whilst I think Lovegrove offers good go forward and runs good lines in the second row, his defence (esp. when moving sideways against a quicker man) can sometimes leave a lot to be desired.

I think he is a good player worthy of a place in the team and agree with Mild Rover in that rather than ship him out, I would much prefer to move him back to prop - he has been effective in that role before.

There is another side to this.
What if Sandy has told Rhys that he probably isn't going to feature much.

Do we just let him sit in the stands or do we say 'Feel free to find another club as you may play more regularly the you will at HKR if you wish'.

And has he said that?

All rumours point to Rhys being told he can find another club.
I'm just giving a counter reason of how that may have happened.

Aye and it happens all the time. But 1 year into a 3 year deal, with a player just going into his second year on a Uni course you might expect the 'i'll stay and fight for my place' response.
With the number of forwards departing he'd be playing anyway - certainly once we've got a couple of injuries in the pack.
