Funnily enough I didn't see it. I was at the other end of the pitch with the Hull fans. However it hardly led to a try did it? And it wasn't stalling, I believe Lynch had to replace his contact lense. Only Barry Mac can play with one eye.

I raise you with this - When Tony Martin went down and had to be carried off, should the game have been stopped? And yes it did effect the game, as Latus scored on the wing he would have been defending.

This has happened numerous times before and unless the player is in the way of that attacking team or it is a clear head injury then as a rule refs dont stop play.
Infact there was one instance in 2008 (IIRC) against Leeds in a live SKY game and Silverwood played on with Peter Fox in amongst the play WITH a head injury.

as per the RULES of the game, he was not interfering with play as the play was past him, it was also not a serious head injury and thus ganson never had to call a halt...


if refs called a halt for every single knock or potential injury a game would last a lot longer...

Had we not had Dobson unjustly sin binned then we may never have been in that position... That was an atrocious call that affected the flow of the game for a spell of 10minutes as it reduced our team down to 12 on the pitch....... you scored on the first set from that binning so by your own reckoning you gained from it but rightly so...

however
because we score from a dubious pass and the try is allowed to stand and then we go on to score further points and win the game then that is wrong in your eyes...

Ganson was poor for both sides which was evened up by the end of the game... both of the poor decisions resulted in a try for each side......

however i don`t wish to dwell on a poor referee... but would like to lift my hat to the excellent game of rugby put on by both teams which kept everybody on the edge of their seats till the final whistle... was just a shame that a team had to lose.... so far....game of the weekend..

10-4 penalty count is not even. You conceded none in the second half!

Anyway I don't want to dwell because it looks petty. I'm more annoyed that the quite clearly atrocious standard of refereeing can happen in a top level game in professional sport.

your team got more from the poor calls than what we did...
we only got one try from a bad call.. you got two from two bad calls, however this was not the reason you lost.. it was the inability to hold that winning lead for the last ten minutes and capitulated in the worst possible way as we have done many times this season....

The way I look at it is this. Two bad decisions by Ganson - the sinbinning vs the forward pass - and they both cost 6pts. That makes it quits in my book.

Another thing, FC were their own worst enemy, they invested so much in the game to get into a winning position of 30-16, but to get there it left them out on their legs in that last ten mins. On the other hand, Rovers who took full advantage by playing for the full 80 mins.

Did the best team get beat? Absolutely no way. You don't win games playing for only 70 mins as Rovers have found out too often this season. A well deserved win by Rovers.

There was a forward pass leading upto the Dobson sin binning but was never pulled up. Swings and roundabouts.

We played some dumb rugby in the second half, failed to put chances away and still came away with the win, we should have won a lot more comfortable.

Oh and what a finish from Hodgson!

Think after reading so many posts on both here and the dull forum calling Ganson forward pass etc. Having watched the game again on SKY Ganson did actually look to his touch judge re the forward pass and it was he who gave the ok. Right fine but why is nobody saying with 1 mins 35 secs to go FC where still leading until missed tackles by Seymour and Sharp allowed Hodson to go 50 mtrs and score was that forward or Mr Gansons fault er no, FC had it won !!!! And are there the only team in Super League with injuries er no excuses excuses excuses you got beat get over it and get on just like we did early in the season.....

Fab finish from mcdonnell to welham to hodgy he certainly finding the try line now isn't he Seymour shud have put him down but he didn't and sharp ain't as fast as I thought he was. Our discipline and ball possession won us the game we had 61 per cent of the ball second half and no penalties against I'd say big improvement there, what was pleasing was the never say die attitude of our players great game to watch but not good for the ticker
