Yes, whether you rent it or not, it's your home and if your not sharing it, it's your own.

It is your home I agree but IMHO that isn't the same as 'Having your own home'.
That inducates ownership which is different.

If someone asked me 'Do you have your own home?', I would say yes because I own it although I am paying a mortgage on it but if I was renting it I would say 'No I rent it'.
