When I turned up (late) there were others there too, I got the feeling it had been quiet because I over heard someone say "see, everyone is turning up now". I was gutted I'd missed it. I knew it started at 10:30am but last time they did one, none of the players were there until later and it was dead early on so I went at 2. If they'd published that it would finish at 1pm I'd assume people would have made it.

Just thought i'd mention this.
This Saturday night (28-07) at the Grafton, Sticky Finger (Rolling Stones Tribute) are playing, this has been booked for a while but last week Mrs GR became aware via facebook, a young lad, David Boulton, had sadly lost his fight for life last Wednesday aged 19 due to cancer. He played amateur rugby league for a local club. She asked the landlady of Grafton if we could do a raffle to help raise some cash for his family to help give David a good send off. Carla (landlady) said it was a good idea and got the ball rolling.Carla, not doing things by half, this has quickly turned into a full charity do in the name of David. There are now some v/good prizes on offer, 2 tickets for the Challenge cup final, i believe a signed Hull FC ball and many many other good prizes. A BBQ and as said a live band.
It starts at 7 with the band coming on at 8.30. A large turn out is expected.
So if any of you happen to be in the Newland ave area sat night and fancy a jug or two, pop in.

Yep, going next Tuesday evening to weight lifting, love a nice clean snatch me.
I was also going to go with a friend to beach volleyball on Tuesday afternoon, but you have to be at venues two hours before so I can't fit it in.
Then, a week on Sunday, the big one. Men's 100m final and womens 400m final. Christine Ohuruogu is just hitting form I don't think she'll win but hopefully she can medal. |
