Strange statement that from rhys, has been an odd couple of years and I thought sandy going would see him stay here for a few years sounds a bit disillusioned in what he says there. .

In his interview after sandy went he openly admitted that he isn't that interested in rugby he said it's his job but he doesn't go home and watch it I think he's thinking of his future and rugby is secondary in that so good luck to him

If I remember correctly he is part way through a degree course and took a year out as It was commented (by sandy I think) that he was possibly having issues combining the course and his rugby. I hope he gets back to his degree and this will help him through the next phase of his career. I have nothing but the greatest respect for Rhys, he always gives his all and is constantly leaving bits of himself on the pitch, having seen him play on having been knocked out, injured, even coming back on once with a roll of cotton wool stuck up each nostrel just to keep playing. never really spoken to him, but always comes across as a great bloke with his heart and his head in the right place. Will be a big loss for the club, but all the best to him and his family wherever it takes them.

The 'conversation' about Sio started with the fact he is leaving Parramatta. Surprisingly the commentary team seemed quite unsure where he was heading and after a bit of hesitation one of them said 'maybe Super League, I think Catalans.' Don't know if it was Gould but the first response was 'He's too young and too good for that' and general agreement that he is a 'great finisher'. Eventually someone said it might be Hull KR and Gould wrapped things up with his 'he's better than that comment'.

Surely you did not mean to say that. There are a number of things he could have said or he could have said nothing. Why bring the subject up at all in an article about another player if he was merely trying to gloss over a difficult situation?

Even if he was asked the question, he did not have to answer in that way. Of course it may be the slant put on it by the journalist. Dealing with the media is a skill in itself which among other things a good coach learns and was something unfortunately Sandy never came to terms with. I hope CC proves to be better.
