| The Robins have received an additional allocation of tickets for the Good Friday derby which are now on sale from the Rovers Retail Store on Savile Street.
Having sold out the north stand, the club have now been given a batch of tickets for the upper tier of the west stand at the KC Stadium which are priced as follows:
Adults: £15
Concessions: £12
Juniors: £5
Tickets can also be purchased over the phone on (01482) 222072 but must be collected before 5pm on Thursday as the Rovers Retail Store will not be open on Good Friday.

If £15 is true, I bet loads of people (from both teams) are about to go into complete meltdown

| I will. I shelled out £23 for a behind the sticks view and now the "Best Stand" is only £15?
This concession only rewards the fickle. Any true fan (of either club) would have got sorted at full price by now.

I have a season pass, so obviously have already paid, and the price per match works out as more than £15.
However I fully support the decision to offer these cheap tickets. Over the last year or 2 the derby attendances have fallen, and we don't want to risk gates falling further and the game being seen as a '2nd class' derby. It is Hull's biggest sporting event and needs to stay that way!
I don't care if the entire Upper West is filled with Rovers fans, at least they will be Rugby League fans enjoying one of the biggest games in the RL calendar and that's all that matters.

That's shocking, £5.50 admin fee is ridiculous. Out of interest who charged it, Rovers or Hull?

| Simple economics really. Sell at the standard price and if there is spare capacity sell at what the market will pay. Those who want to risk it in future might end up missing out.
This could not happen on a regular basis otherwise it would be Bradford bulls all over again.

| Not so sure all of the 7000 or so people that have already bought tickets @ full price will think it's a great idea.
Annoying part of the 3100 Rovers fans isn't a problem for FC, but the 4000 odd Hull fans that already bought tickets as earlier as yesterday, might not be too happy. Seeing as much of this chunk of support will be the missing support AP is desperate to get back, might not be a great move to suddenly offer discounts.
FWIW I support the discount. A few more may now attend, but would imagine most who was intending to go will have bought tickets already. The freezing cold prospect of the west upper vs the warmth of the tv option - even at £15 may not persuade the average floater.

When the new north stand is open, and assuming nothing has or ever will be done @ the south end, I'd imagine the south terrace may be discounted in the future.

Maybe. Crowds are down though (ours too) and the CP derby hasn't sold out the last couple of years. Would make full sense therefore for Hudgell to be emulate Pearson's benevolence, assuming he's big enough. I don't mean tall enough, obvs.

The only real area of the ground that hasn't sold out is the south terrace. Which as it stands, is being discounted to all visiting sides @ £17. Well done Hudgell and good to see AP following suit too, discounting the 'subbuteo view' of the KC upper. I'm sure if we had 5000 spare seats we could maybe go down to £15 too.

For a seat. Under cover. From which you can observe the game. For £2 less than offered at CP. Which doesn't sell out. Hmmm....

But none the less operating @ or somewhere close to 98% of capacity each time.
As I originally said, should we in the future have an area of CP that isn't available to buy tickets for until 3 days prior the event. Then we too could possibly open up this area at a heavily discounted rate (to all) instead of it being otherwise empty. As it is, when we're operating @ close to our capacity, we have no real need (or facilities) to speculate to accumulate.

What is the capacity now then? Confusing keeping track with so many HDM articles, Rovers website interviews www.hullkr.tv/?v=126&pg=55 etc.
There's probably little in it, but going with £15 in the South could provide a double winner - the guaranteed derby sellout Mike Smith has spoken to sponsors about and provision of evidence thereof, plus a goodwill gesture to reflect that of the benevolent AP.

Well documents would suggest
2011 - 10250
2012 - 8978
So in actual fact we sold out in 2011 and somehow (and perhaps dangerously) appear to have an extra 108 people in above capacity last year.
So already we have had the sell out Mike Smith has spoken to sponsors about and no reason to suggest anything will change this year. AP's kind gesture isn't anything other than using surplus space that otherwise will be closed. But due to the limited time available, he has had to make it as attractive as possible to justify (recoup) costs of opening the damn thing. I hope it works. The derby has lost something every year and this is a positive step, to redress that. However with 3 days to go a little late. If this was done a week ago, far more people would've taken up the offer. But he wasn't going to do that until he got enough fans paying top dollar first. Don't undersell your stock whilst the demand is high. Then when the demand is less and you have a lot of stock still to sell (but the sell by date is approaching), sell it off as fast as you can. This is more or less what Hull have done. Makes sense, but you have to be careful that the customers don't hold back waiting for the sales again the following year. Rovers on the other hand, have limited stock and high demand for it. For a club on the brink (if some of the rumours we hear from people are to be believed) then it makes no sense to undersell our product when we don't have to. AP has stated he'll spend until his bank manager says no more, so fair play to the guy for his gesture of goodwill for those who take up his £15 a ticket 3 day bonanza.
