I have never seen so many snails in my garden and on the patio. Thousands of them.

I've glued fake fur onto loads of them and then I walk slowly around.

In this way I can pretend to be in a hot air balloon slowly floating over the Masai Mara on safari, watching the wildebeest's on their annual migration.

Fun times.

I was going to do that once, but you have to keep them in the fridge for days to purge them. I'd already got pigs trotters in the freezer and Ms. Terrorist drew the line at having snails in the fridge.

I couldn't eat them now, they're pets. And it would ruin the safari, unless I put a lion costume on. Hmm...

Saw a Hugh Fearnley Whittingt**t programme once, he spent days preparing the slugs and a fortune on other ingredients, only to find out they were disgusting.

It's only the butter and garlic that make snails edible for me.

Got dozens of snails and slugs in the garden even the hedgehogs and toads are fed up of then.

Did anyone watch "A Place in Spain" on channel 4 a few years ago? It was about a barmy couple from the UK moving over to Spain to set up a snail farm. The guy was obsessed with the idea & that it was going to be a huge success, inevitably it failed.

Why people want to eat such things in the first place is beyond me, silly meat eaters.

They're not the best, as Wharfey says, it's mainly about the garlic and parsley. Frogs legs are on a similar level. Horse is great though.

The Thrushes launched a merciless attack under the guise of this evenings rain.

The Snails suffered many casualties, and considerable losses.

If I see a snail in the middle of the pavement I move it so it doesn't get crushed. Hopefully the snail doesn't mind & I move it in the right direction. I'd feel awful if I'd annoyed it like in a dragging an old lady accros the road situation.

I did'nt mind goat at first I bought one for the Nepalese boys I work with for their New Year, but a week later and still having curried goat got a wee bit tedious for me.
That and the fact I bought it wanting to see the way the Nepalese slaughter their goats having heard all about it, only for them to say they could not do it so it was left to me bloody cowards.

I told you it was Swedish, what language did you expect it to be in you thick get?

During the dark hours, further casualties have been sustained in blue on blue contact when I went outside for a fag.

Did anyone else watch the program 'The town that never retired'?
It was about testing retired folks going back into the workplace in the first episode.
About half could do it and stayed for a second week.

In the second week they got a load of young kids in to work side by side with the folks who survived the first week.
Of those young kids(6) one turned up late and the buggered off at dinner time, two didn't turn on day 2 without a phone call only to return on day 3 and one stuck it 2 days and then didn't bother going back yet again without a phone call which meant that only two of them saw the full week out!

All in all 1 retired woman got taken on and one young kid got taken on.
I have to say though that I was amazed how poor the attitude of the young folk as an average was though!

You bloody didn't. I had to go upstairs to get my eye glasses. I'm half way through as it was getting late, it's a lot better than the remake, sticks to the book more closely & it seems darker somehow.

One of the young ones turned up about 45 mins late with a 'can't be bothered' look on his face then at lunch time he went out for dinner and got an upset stomach from a pie (It was instant food poisoning apparently) one of his mates just happened to be near by to pick him up luckily.
The camera grew went to his house.
After getting up

he then told them his story and when asked what the company he was trying to get a job at may think his reply was something that I would have to edit on here but basically he wasn't bothered.
The final thing you saw and heard him say on the program was 'Can I go back to bed now?'


Now remember that he was desperate for a job apparently.

Truely amazing.

Like it or not the seniors may not have been physically able to do the work but they at least gave it a proper go.
All but 2 of the youngsters didn't.
