| So let me get this right? Hull's only concern is raising the maximum amount for children in need. If that is the case wouldn't it have been a good idea to ask all of us who are donating an extra pound to sign a 'gift aid' authority too, then they would have raised alot more. But as we are not donating and the pound has been included in the ticket price I don't think they would now be able to do that, shame really.

Constructive as ever Stan.
[iWhen an individual, sole trader or partnership gives money to your charity or CASC through Gift Aid, you can take their donation – which is money they’ve already paid tax on – and reclaim basic rate tax from HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) on its ‘gross’ equivalent – the amount before basic rate tax was deducted.[/i
Do you not think it would have been a good idea?

Thanks, and how constructive are you being for christs sake?
Move on as you are looking rather silly to a lot of people.
Hull are charging a pound extra, they will decide to donate this to charity, and you are moaning cos little old you aint getting a mention.
Pathetic.

No, people wouldn't be bothered IMO, this way everybody contributes.
**In fact you may have a point, all people walking through the turnstyles could simply be asked to sign a slip on entrance...not a bad idea really meaning HULL FC would raise more money and be able to bask in even more glory thanks to THEIR donation

But your not donating anything so how could they claim gift aid?
The club have increased ticket prices and they are donating.

| There's more than one way to skin a cat and it would seem Hull FC are trying to do it with a spoon
Pay if you want to, don't if you don't. After caring initially, it's just getting boring now.

After reading the reply to Phil's email it's obvious Hull FC aren't going to give credit to the people that are actually donating the money. They've obviously came up with some round-the-houses reply and are showing how they're being "charitable" by bullsh*tting paying fans into thinking otherwise.
I'm not proud that Rovers rip Hull FC fans off every derby game regarding the South stand prices but at least it isn't disguised as charity, it's just a way of getting more money for our own cause.

And we are getting more money for another cause, CHARITY.
Can you name any other charity fundraiser that lists all that have donated to THEIR figure raised?

No, but whereas someone would raise money for charity by doing a bungie jump, dying their hair or run a marathon, nobody would raise money by walking around with a bucket, forcing people to donate at knife point (I know that's a tad dramatic, but forced charity is forced charity). My point is, Hull FC are doing [inothing[/i to justify putting their name to the donation, but the fans of both clubs are. If you don't see a problem with that then fair enough.
I just bored myself with that post, sorry...

I'm going to bow out here Stan. I've already got my ticket and as a paying fan I'm more than happy to aid Hull FC's charitable donation to Children In Need

| Most pathetic thread ever.
If the extra quid annoys people that much, why was there such a queue on Monday morning? I queued at CP for 2 1/2 hrs, got my tickets and never heard 1 person complain about this. It's just the odd poster on here that thinks they are representing the fans, well your not. Most of us ain't that petty, and have lives to lead.
See you all on Good Friday. Hope Pudsey turns up!

My point exactly
The club cannot 'gift aid', but individuals can, the amount added onto the tickets could have been increased greatly had it been a voluntary donation.

I know it was
IMO they will get more money this way than by a volountary donation.

I'm going to bow out now too. I too have purchased my tickets, but people need to remember that on an internet forum we are all entitled to an opinion. My opinion is that Hull FC are doing a good thing by donating funds they are making from the rugby league watching public of Hull, I just hope that that is the way it appears at any presentation to the charity.
For what it's worth, I hope it is a huge cheque.

| Though i'm not a big fan of Jimmy Rule he gets 10 out of 10 for this one. After Rovers shenanigans last season regarding ticket prices he has played his ace card here.........................
.......................and he hit the jackpot
