It will make France competitive if they are allowed to play but i dont agree with the rule if they are allowed. Sends out the wrong message to young French rugby league players wanting to play international RL not to mention the simple fact that they are not French!

| Welham at this moment in time is ahead of Hall purely on the basis that he didnt need to go out on loan to a lower league club to rebuild his confidence.
Welham is a great reader of the game.
His pace isnt blistering but he isnt the sloutch some on here are making him out to be.
His try scoring record is 1 every 2 games which in SL is above average.
Defensively he needs to improve but he will.
People are forgetting he made his break through at aged 21 not 17, 18.
Therefore he still has improvement in him.
And he has caught the eye of Tony Smith this season so maybe one day he might get Rep honours.

I like Welham as a player and think he had still got improvement in him however I would say Hall has far more potential and natural ability.
If you were offered a straight swap which player would you honestly take?

but its ok for england to do it
ie fasavalu, bridge and harrison
there is and has been plenty of examples in league in recent times, so to deny these would be wromg of the league authorities ,unless they are willing to go through each squad and make sure that they are representing their country of birth.

No it isnt OK for England to do it, did I say that?
The fact that Fa'asavalu played for GB devalued the shirt IMO....

If Hall can improve his upper body strength and positional play then i agree he has the potential to be the better of the 2.
If he doesnt then Welham is the more solid option.

I agree. TBF to Hall late in the season his defensive game looked to have improved considerably and his confidence was high. People knock the loan move to Widnes but it has helped his development IMO.
Either way it is refreshing to see a few Hull born lads playing super league level in the centres....if only we could find a couple of scrum halves!

No chance. They're both flaky in defence but hall is an exceptional attacking talent and certainly one of the fastest centres in SL

as i said it goes on, i seem to recall tongans, new zealanders , aussies, png etc etc etc all being allowed to switch allegencies in the past as well.
and i agree with you, anybody that represents england who is not english by birth , should not happen. and i`m sure smith could pick english players that are on an equal if not better quality than bridge, harrison and the guarenteed fasa when sts finish
