Good post.
Clinton is showing good quality but I'd like to see him on the pitch for longer. You just start thinking he's doing well and he's back on the bench again.
That's modern coaching for you.

| I thought clinton went well early on. It was a difficult game for any forward to look good on the rovers side.
Probably the only forward In your side I'd like at Hull

When he was on I thought he did ok too, made yards and looked to offload. We need more game time from him. As for Rhys, he had a mare really, dropping passes, albeit sometimes tough ones. I see he has shaved his Billy Idol locks off after the Bratfud game. Good idea as he had a bad one there too and with that hair people notice more!
All the rubbish on other posts about sacking Justin...absolute tosh. Keep with him who is there better we can afford TBH? After a reasonable clearout this winter, hopefully a better season next. Many people have said this is a holding season so lets be more patient and sensible and less over-reactive, fickle and volatile, leave that for the FC Forums!
The licencing system is there for seasons like this, i.e. no relelgation and chances to blood youngsters and at a risk of some more paggerings I fear if we did, as I don't really think the quick fixes lie there, but if we tried them we must expect some more like yesterday I fear. Unlike Saints who just seem to roll them consistently off the production line going by yestedays line-up. Awesome!

Developing your own talent is the way forward for any team that wants to succeed long term.
Saints yesterday had only 2 overseas players in their 17, Flannery and Big Tony.
Teams like Saints and Wigan should not be allowed to send players out on dual contracts to other clubs, how do you think local players think when someone comes in and takes their place in the team, It seems Castleford will accept anyone from anywhere for any length of time.
The standard of rugby has leveled out, but the standard IMHO has gone down not up, compared to the NRL, (not forgetting, they in fact allow their ageing/over the hill players ply their trade here) we are miles behind them in terms of being competative.

its unfair to compare him to James Graham, Graham is a RL freak, hes a 1 off these days and one of the best about too.

| Having watched Clinton for some time now, I don't see what he brings to the side that we didn't have already.
He's OK and lately probably one of our better performing props (that's not saying much) but he's not a nasty b@stard who'll knock the sh.!.t out of someone in defence or knock defenders over like skittles. He's Jason Netherton with a bit more go forward. A latter day Richie Hayes, but spending less time on the pitch.
Really, would we have performed any worse without him? I don't think we would. We lost the two best impact players we had (Stan & Macca) and have not replaced anything like.
Comparing the impact that Clinton makes compared to O'Meley is like chalk and cheese even Paul King is looking better than any of our props.

and such is the reason we got rid. I love stan as much as any rovers fan but he was past it as a SL player. Macca for what ever reason has lost it and now he is struggling to get into fax's team just justifies the decision to let him go all the more.
Joel will get better as the season goes on, he's way out our best prop at the moment (not a lot to compete with mind) but he is improving game on game.

Maybe Big Joel, Dobbo and the others touting clubs to get them a move know something the fans dont know yet?
Seems strange how they suddenly stop playing and caring and rumours of them wanting away surface.
And then we read from another poster that a CCJ has being put against the club.
Just what is going on here?

or put a different way
Seems strange how rumours of unrest and player not caring only surface when a team is having a slump..
People need a reason so this drivvel always comes up, maybe, just maybe we are losing games because we aren't playing too well, it's sport, it happens.

| well in my book everything is fine with our team; weve had afew bad results but apart from that were playing the best rugby weve played in 20 odd years (wire afew weeks ago springs to mind); its about time some of my fellow rovers fans realise where we were just 5/6 years ago.
Ok our accounts side dont look good but that needed to happen for us to get where we are now; otherwise we would still be in the NL.
These rumours have only sprung up because we are now in the limelight and arnt producing what we have the last season and a bit - this thread as all the other rumours before it will dissolve as soon as we have a decent game in 2 weeks.
Rally Round!

What a load of tripe.
Clinton has been terrific for us so far, and its an insult to say that Stan and Makka are better.
