technically you are right, but im sure there would be plenty of suitoers who wanted to buy fc if thats the case...our merchandise alone nets £1 mill a season apprently, we play in the best ground in the league, our assets are substancially bigger than most clubs...id say we would be ok if the shizzer hit the fan....shame i cant say that about other clubs..

Agreement for future rugby at the KC is not an asset, neither is a fan base! Do you own your new training facility?

as far as im aware, our new trainig facility will be jointly owned/purchased by fc and the nhs.....
and lets be honest, playing at the kc is an asset, cus if we didnt have that agreement then we could be homeless next season if the crap hit the fan...also our fan base, we attract 13500 last year average. culmintaing in over £1mill worth of merchandise sales..id say thats an assett only some clubs could dream off wouldnt you??

Depends on your definition of asset. They are not assets in the financial sense. If FC went bust (heaven forbid!), what would the creditors do with your fanbase? Sell it to Rovers?

The fanbase is the biggest asset any sports team have, they are the ones who buy passes, pay to attend, buy merchandise, basically support the club.Sponsors are attracted to a large fan base, it promotes them to a bigger audience.
Hence Hudge saying he wants to get 10000, that is how he will generate money.

Guess he was talking tangible fixed asset as per a balance sheer/P&L.

Fans cant be quantified as such and officially arent an asset. The revenue generated from them will be down on a forecast sheet somewhere though.

Anything can happen as anyone who has followed either us or FC for over 40 yrs can testify to, the recent additions seem to think 13,500 is something you have averaged since 1865.

I agree, I am in no doubts our gates have improved since you got promotion, the rivalry brings them out in their droves for both teams. Both clubs had a great following in the 80s when we both flew high, like I have said I hope it gets sorted with you guys as it benefits both clubs to both be in top flight.

dont accountants refer to this as 'goodwill' when valuing a company? the value of a customer base, based on branding etc is where most companys make their value. in terms of efficiency, the 'leanest' (least wasteful) companys have no assets.

and if you look at football clubs, youll probably find that the clubs who are most attractive to foreign investors are the ones deamed to have the strongest and least elastic fan bases

On that definition all the FC squad could be included.

Maybe last season, this season i've a feeling it will be defining yours.
