I think East Hull FC fan has it right. Current directors to provide clean slate to new owner. Rovers cap spend then dependent on appetite of new owner to support losses on a scale of Larvin to break even. Hudgell does have drama queen tendencies, and this, coupled with City's anticlimactic effort earlier this week, make a convenient story for the HDM to divert negativity away from their beloved ones for 15 minutes.

They did away with that iirc. Tbh, they pretty much did away with the whole system.

It is far from clear that a break even model exists for Hull KR in SL. The cut in spend, to that extent, will mean that the squad would be significantly weaker, performances would suffer, crowds would fall further, requiring another cut in spending and so on. Like a few clubs, we're only really tenable in SL with a benefactor.

There's no guarantee that we can do it in the Championship, either - the loss in revenue would be massive, and although costs would be much reduced too, it'd be a challenge. It'd be on a more manageable scale though. If the people left holding the baby are not very, very wealthy, the Championship represents a less daunting prospect, I reckon.

I don't think Hull FC are in a much better position.

You can all say they are trying to get fans in through the door but were does that leave season tickets sales for next season?

Its totally unfair to ask / expect Neil & Rob to keep pumping money into the club, especially when they are dished up what they witnessed on Monday. New investors will be hard to find and then the only other alternative would be to go into administration/merge with FC.

The idea of merging with FC is unpalatable to most but joint venture clubs have worked in Aus and could here. I don't like the idea since i've been a Rovers fan for more than 3/4 of my life, but I can see the business sense in this idea. If a merger did happen it may be an idea to keep the Rovers name alive by entering a team in the Championship to support the players not in the 1st team (SL team). This team would act as a kind of feeder team but if the structure was right then it would be a lot more viable than dual-registration.

Before people start shooting down the idea, if push comes to shove would you rather have no Hull KR in existence just to satisfy yourself that you didn't support a merger or would you like to see Hull KR and its iconic jersey retained in some capacity.

I would happily go to watch both as although I love tradition i'm also a realist and people need to think logically about the situation we find ourselves in. This is just an idea to put out there with others but it should not be discounted either.

If SKY had got their way in 95 and we'd have merged then I'd like to bet that pretty much every one of us would now be watching the merged team at the KC now

The chances are it would have to be a new design with no red or black in it.

A merger is the same as no Hull KR (or Hull FC for that matter).

There's no such thing as a merger it's just one team taking over another I can't believe people already have us finished and in the lower leagues I don't think hudgell would just give up without anything in place it would be a waste of ten years hard work it's not over yet so cheer up
