| Quote ="j_hunter_hkr"So what do people suggest we do about it? Pour all of our time and money into meeting away supporters' strangely high standards for watching 80 minutes of Rugby League? I've stood in The Well for years, we get wet when it rains, cold when it's winter and hardly ever any sunshine in the summer, but I'm there to watch a game of Rugby League, not have a picnic and a game of frizbee.
People complain about our ground purely because they can.'"
I follow FC to every game Home and Away including the games in France etc. However, I refuse to be ripped off and made to pay £17 to go in the South Stand at CP. I had to miss the first derby last season at CP because I couldn't get a ticket in the North Stand and will not be attending any future games if the only ticket I can get is the South Stand. This is not an "excuse" and has nothing to do with having to stand or getting wet etc its purely down to actually wanting to be able to see the game and not being ripped off.

If you think £17 is fair than £24 is a bargain!
Besides, we are discussing reasons why fans dont go to CP.

fair for u louts!
na just kidding, the view from south is shocking but plans are afoot to rectify this, however, i doubt it very much that the cost of a ticket for the kfc will reduce in seasons to come.

I think the main problem with away fans not wanting to come is because there is no way to generate any atmosphere what so ever, can't make any noise etc.'"
What absolute rubbish, i have travelled far and wide over the years and been to many grounds that have had no cover but we still managed to generate an atmosphere, the old Boulevard and Featherstones ground been prime examples, both had open ends were the KR fans stood in the past but the atmosphere was always excellent. i have had many a soaking at those grounds and others besides, plus been frozen to the bone during the the old days of winter rugby, but it never detered myself or the the other thousands of rovers and, dare i say Hull fc fans, from travelling and supporting their teams
If you travel in numbers and realy get behind your team as a unit you will always generate an atmosphere, perhaps if you ask us nicely we may even give you a few lessons on how its done .

I'll second that. Our first try I was cheering our lad on as I thought he had another 20 yards or so to go. When he plopped over I thought he'd fallen Grand National style.
Not a fan of watching it from behind the posts but I'll be back, even if you could count our following on one hand for the Challenge Cup game.

it's weird. You only have to include the word 'away' in a thread title and you're guaranteed to attract Huddersfield fans, yet strangely the word 'away' seems to repel them everywhere else.

| I WOULD LOVE TO COME UP TO HULL ON FRIDAY FOR THE CELTIC GAME BUT I AM IN WORK TILL 3-o-CLOCK AND I COULD NEVER GET TO HULL IN THAT TIME. I FIND THE PROBLEM WITH AWAY GAMES IS THAT THEY ARE EITHER ON A FRIDAY NIGHT OR ON A SUNDAY AFTERNOON AND I HAVE TO MISS AT LEAST ONE DAY AT WORK TO GO AWAY.
HULL IS ABOUT SIX HOURS FROM BRIDGEND AND IT TAKES ME 2 HOURS TO GET TO BRIDGEND TO EVEN GET ON A COACH FOR AWAY GAMES.
FRIDAYS GAME WOULD SEE ME GETTING OFF THE COACH AT ABOUT 3 TO 4 IN THE MORNING AND THEN TRAVELLING 2 HOURS TO GET HOME.NOT FEASIBLE EVEN THOUGH I WANT TO GO TO AWAY GAMES LIKE YOURS. I CAN UNDERSTAND WHY A LOT DON'T TRAVEL AWAY AS EVERY ONE OF OUR GAMES IS A GOOD 4 HOURS MINIMUM.

Cheeky git
I have attended HKR away games about 3-4 times, missed the league game in 2006 due to being in Italy but attended the play off game. Have to say I was always warned about coming up to either Hull club ie behavoir of fans, however I only witnessed any bother at FC at the old Boulevard. Not once at CP. As for the view, not great, sorry has to be said, but that ing huge seated stand at the side opposite the main terracing was top draw. Cant remember anything about the price, but great view up there.

| I admire anyone who can get to every away game, I myself go to every away game. I love it, I love seeing all our fans pack out the stand and cheer on the mighty Rovers away from home.
Leeds didn't bring many this year, it disgusted me, as last year they filled the north and south stand.

I have been lucky to get to all Saints games this season so far and I think its safe to say the travelling support from Saints and the clubs we have played at home has so far generally been lower than it has been in previous seasons.
I think Hull clubs may feel it more because of the distance for fans to travel (especially from the Lancashire clubs) without it having the same appeal as a weekend in London or Wales, if any game has to be dropped for most I would imagine it would often be a trip to hull.
Those who do travel like you said deserve to be admired but I don't think you can slag off those who don't without knowing the reasons behind them staying at home - I am sure a lot would love to be able to get there.

| SL clubs should work together to get coach deals, discount away tickets for season pass holders and ensure that every ground has a decent stand for away fans. Then we might see more people coming. Also towns/cities tourism board should get involved and promote the trip as a full day out for the whole family, offering discount vouchers to local attractions for fans who are in town.
I wonder if any SL club has ever approached their council/tourist dept to work together?
